Hello guys, I was in art today and i finished the assignment early so i started to sketch something that poped into my head a few days ago and came up with this:

I would like a 3D model of that, just because if made it would be kool. I was thinking the cockpit would be much like a jet, it would fit 1-2 which are in a row(one behind the other). As you can see, it is a very diffrent design that most anything out there. I think if foomer is up to it he could come up with a good looking one. Really you can change it however you see fit for it to make a little more sence. Now the model shown there has towing straps on the back because as the Title says it is the towing model. I really just thought that would be odd, so i added it. But it could be a fighter if you found a good place for a gun. Or just a cruser (really what it looks like).
It ain't pretty, but it gets the job done (sort of):

Better than I could have done, Considering when this was posted and when you replyed good job.

Nice, I like it.

Kool, that looks really nice, but i wanted something more rounded. That still looks kool. If you cant get a more rounded version than that will work. But if you see right, the bottom is arched just a little. But the engine almost isnt. Now i know what i want is kinda hard, but foomer, i know you can do it, it will just take like 1billion polys.

I wasn't worried about whether or not I could do it, I just think it seems a bit impractical to have an arched hull for a ship. More expensive to produce, more difficult to store, and more awkward in general (How ever do you land that thing?). So I rounded the head for aerodynamicness's sake and was content with that. :)

And I only spent 15-30 minutes on it, so it wasn't a big deal. Most of that was remembering how Blender works, since I hadn't used it in a while.

(For future reference, if you want someone to make a more exact model rather than their impression of what it should be, try making a top, side, and front view "blueprints" drawing.)

I know, and dont take it as i was making fun of your rendering, it looks very nice, but it is not exsactly what i had in mind. I understand my drawing is not the best, so sorry if i came off rude, you did a good job, just not the job i wanted(kinda). And to be honist, it would never be landed in an area with gravity, so really the way it is shaped would not matter at all, it could be a huge block and go the same speed as a nice round ball with the same mass.

What if they wanted to drag a crashed ship from a planet though?

I suppose it all depends on whether they've invented anti gravity or not. :P

But as I said, if you want a more exact model, you need some better reference drawings.

Ya, well, that was about the best i could draw it, and it really came out diffrent from the way i have it in my head. Ill try to give it some more dementions on the sketch.Really, you had the right idea, but the engine area is just a little bit bigger than the flins that come off the back. The entire thing is a little longer and more streached out. You had the right idea, but it just didnt come out how i liked it, im not blaming you, im just saying what i was wanting out of it.

this isnt about the 3D design. i was just wondering if Foomer could direct me in the right direction to learn how to usr blender.

i went looking and found this:

It is the best i have found.

Im making a model of it -_>

Ive never made a model before, lol, and im actually using a map making utility for the old fps DFII: Jedi Knight. I gotta remember how to turn it into a 3d object and texture the outside(as opposed to the inside).

If you want a better modeller than that, I suggest gmax or Blender. =)

Its not that I cant get a better modeler(I could just as easily fire up kazaa and get 3ds max), I dont have the time to learn how to use a new one, school starts monday.
ok, i recreated it with 3D, it didnt come out like i wanted, but close. Here http://www.scooberthosting.com/byond/ship1.jpg
