Hey, seeing as the hole issue of Mp3's being traded back and forth without buying from the actuall production company...I was wondering, will byond eventually try to do something about trading Mp3's? I mean, if i was a rock band just starting out and trying my best to make money to stay on top of the game, I'd want all my songs to make money when someone wants them. If you care about listening to your favorite bands in the future, dont steal from them, give them rights to charge for their work! It's their lifestyle, not just a free contribution.

Your not saving the artists by paying for music, your giving them a miniscule ammount of money. Most artists make the majority of their money off of tours and other various things.

But by that logic I should be stealing cans of coke from the vending machine instead of paying the miniscule AU$1.20 for them.

The RIAA has the prices of CDs ridiculusly high for how much it costs to make them. It wouldn't be bad if the original artist made a good profit off the CDs being sold but they only get a small amount and as already noted the artists make most thier money off concerts not the CDs. |
That's why more artists are starting to sell their own CDs (often through the internet). Down with the RIAA! =)

Wrong there. Coke makes most all of their money from selling their products to vendors. Thats their main source of income. Album sales are not an artists main source of income because the record company doesnt pay them enough to live on in a lot of cases. Its not like cans of coke go on tours around the country generating revenue for their owner.
