I.....am not a hero...........
My hero is Tom, because I am a kissup!

Also because I owe so much to him.

kissup!

This word was selected in favour of... *pauses* Ohhhh.
My hero would have to be Nadrew...Even though he basically hates me. He helped me out when I first began BYOND, I don't know what happened but yeah...
In response to Dracon
O_o Dan died?
I wouldn't really say I have a hero...

People I respect, hmmm... Long list. To make it short. Everyone knows I'm a really likable person, my Banned List, is by far, only 2 people, I never have a private pager, and I get along with anyone who wants to talk to me. So I respect them for giving me some (if they do, I mean).

But... a mentor? Hmmm...

I'd have to say there is 3 people who really influenced me to convert from a DBZer(that's right, I was a DBZer.) to a programmer. Those people are as follows...

OneFishDown - Always there when I need help, and never a bad sport.

RaeKwon - For sparking that slight sense of annoyance of all DBZers, which got me to stop liking it as much.

Dracon - Being one of the only true people who show a sense of intelligence, without being so. (just kidding, hehe):)

Last, but certainly not least...

Sariat - Now, you mights be saying why in the world I would pick Sariat as one of these people... but... he does stick up for what he thinks is right(be it wrong, or right). I think everyone should have an attitude like Sariat, just...focus it a little diffrently. :)

Also: Treat newbies with respect, you never know who they'll turn up to be. You never know how good someone is until you don't have them. So don't drive our newbies away. Like Data-Con, he's probably the coolest newbie in newbie land.

You can still like dbz without being a dbzer. Theres no reason to stop liking it just because someone doesn't like it(in fact thats a very bad reason imo).

My so called "heroes" are:

1. digitalmouse (hes a great guy, and I fail to see a bad side to him)
2. NeoHaxor (he accepted me into developing BYONDreams, hes a great guy, and hes a great icon artist.)
3. OneFishDown (talk about talented, hes a really intelligent guy, and nice.)
4. DanTom (how can you forget about the creators, they are the real heroes.)
5. SilkWizard (I looked up to him in my early days, hes a very good programmer, and nice.)

According to some rumours, Dan is in a Dan-shaped bag in Nadrew's basement. According to other rumours, the Dan-shaped bag is in Tom's closet. According to yet more rumours, Dan recently escaped. An unconfirmed sighting of Dan was reported at an airport, I believe.

Of course, this is all rumour. He's probably just hard at work on BYOND 4.0. In his bag. Isn't he, Dan? =D

I thought Tom and Ron were still tracking Dan down since his last escape?
The giant Kool-Aid jug. "Ooohhh yeah!"
In response to Goku72
No, he returned to the basement after he relized he had no money or food, and was miles away from anyone he knew.
Bah, everyone else posted, so why not?
Like the others, I don't think I have an actual hero, but I do look up to many people:
[In no particular order]
1. Deadron - Makes great libraries and is very helpful
2. LummoxJR - Fun to talk to. Great for help.
3. Spuzzum - Great libs, great help.
4. Garthor - Ok, he can be a real pain, but he can help =)
5. Kunark - Very helpful
6. OneFishDown - Very helpful
7. Jon88 - Very helpful
8. Crispy - Very helpful
9. Maz - Helpful, fun to talk to.
10. Scoobert - hmmmmm. Nice guy, and we're about the same "level", so it's great to talk to him.
11. Anyone else who's helped me. THANKS!
12. JimmyWimmy - My split personality who smacks me in the face whenever I try to put things off or quit a project =D
13. SilkWizard for creating 2 kickass games, the first 2 I ever played on BYOND!

1. Not to seem offensive, but I still believe you have a lot more to learn to consider your self on the same "level" as old Scoob. He's been around fer a while.

2. So, he smacks you too eh?
In response to Goku72
1. Post [link]

2. Yep
In response to Airjoe
I thought you meant coding "level" not just a maturity perk =p
Hero eh? Well not as many of them as highly respected Byonders in my book but here it goes(in no particular order):

Lummox JR
Deadron
Gughunter
OneFishDown
DanTom

I was going to write out why, but it all basically came out to the same thing: Incredibly talented and helpful. I won't even begin to name the well respected bunch(mainly because I don't want to forget anybody:D), but if you're not sure, you're probably on the list. :)
I think I'm going to have to call my agent. So far I'm only considered a hero by one person here. =)

(Maybe the fact that I haven't posted anything substantially helpful in Newbie Central for well over a year has something to do with it.)
In response to Spuzzum
Spuzzster is my hero.
In response to Spuzzum
Spuzzum - Great libs, great help.
