I know everyone's expectations for BYOND 4.x are very high, but what if we are inadvertently driving people mad?

Don't understand what I mean?

This animation should clear it up for you,...

LMAO! Isn't that something.. and I mean exactly what I said: something. Well, I can wait for 4.0 to come out, but looks like Kujilia can't ^.^

~Cam
Nice. What was the HrH one?
In response to Airjoe
You mean a URL link? Well, to conserve bandwidth (preshusssss bandwifff...) I removed it,...

It was poorly, excuse me, VERY poorly compressed and it wasn't too horribly funny anyhow...

:-/

I can still grab it for you if you would like, though...

Would be greatly appreciated =)
[I first saw it on a 28.8K dial-up using a laptop, and it was worth the wait]
In response to Airjoe
Ah, it's nearly 900kbs! Lol,... *rubs 56k softly*

I'll go upload it now, but really, it isn't too horrible dandy... :-|

I'll post the link here after its upload.

Here you are, Airjoe...

[EDIT]
The daily bandwidth limit might be over-exceeded, if so, try again tommorow, sorry Airjoe!

Work on your comprestion a little, it was funny, but the low quality images made it look like crap.
Hehe. That guy is just sad... =)

Personally, I wouldn't expect BYOND 4.0 to come out this year. Early 2004 at the soonest. So get cracking on those games, people! According to most reports I've heard BYOND 4.0's improvements will probably be mostly orientated towards the interface and the display, rather than extra functionality. In other words; it'll look prettier, but work the same. So there's no reason to delay anything until it comes out. =)

:-/ Yeah, I cranked the JPEG quality wayyyy down on some of the images, to around 20%...

I knocked off a couple hundred KBs, though, so I think it was worht it in the case. :)

Ah darn man, I was hoping thems rumors 'bout the full-screen and detachable pager were true! >_<

Ah well, a pretty BYOND will be nice as well! ;)

Erm... I rather think that full-screen and detachable pager fall under the category of "display and interface improvements". =D
In response to Kujila

We know some of its true.

...What?

We know some of its true.

I could make some stupid joke here about the image not showing but I'm not going to.

Check your HTML, Maz. You left out a double quote. =)

Woaho, lookin' nice! :-D

Well, I was thinking as full-screen in the terms of it being an asset to making the games more functional, not as being a display improvement,...

It works both ways, I suppose...

~Kujila
dang!

that was really funny, im sitting here at work laughing my ass off!

good job man, thanks for cheering up my day!

I may not check every week, but I am hoping it comes out early 2004!

I sure hope so. I am also hoping it will allow for stand-alone-ish stuff so I can get people I know to play my games, and not be discuraged when they get 5 "STA" pages telling them they have been of extended absence, or when they wander off of the game for a second only to see 500 crappy DBZ games filling up unpublished games.

So there's no reason to delay anything until it comes out. =)

Except when BYOND bugs prevent you from working on it ;)
Hilarious stuff, Kujila! The HrH one is probably more true than we'd like to admit!

I am working on 4.0, but progress is very slow. Like others have mentioned, it's primarily an interface upgrade. You'll be able to make custom windows, popup menus, and the like.

The goal was to get it out at the end of last year, but "real life" intervened and has caused quite a delay (about six months where nothing was done at all). Now we're working on putting something out for this year. I don't want to make any promises because I've been pretty flaky on meeting goals here. No need to jump out of any windows in anticipation!
