A pop-up add seems to occur simutansouly on my computor when im online, I have noticed that soemtimes they pop-up when I open a folder such as control panel and etc. I also get many pop-ups on sites that where not known in my history to have pop-ups such as Byond. I have a pop-up killer that can stop the pop-ups from coming up but am concerned on where these pop-ups are coming from. Anyone have any ideas?

Im no expert but get a spyware removing program and see how that works.. Ad-aware is a good program

I've heard of some malware modifying the .hosts file so that Internet Explorer will check out certain sites when doing ordinary tasks. The .hosts file should be in a directory like C:\Windows or C:\Windows\Web, etc. You can search for it, then open it in any text editor. If you see a weird site in there (likely as not, one ending in .ru), you should be able to delete that line safely from the file. Lummox JR | |
