That's not true, either... it was intended to be a trilogy, although when they made the first movie, they didn't know how well it would do so it was just one movie with the option for two sequels. From the moment they got the go ahead for the sequel, they planned to make both movies. The difference is that they knew they were making two movies this time, so to save time and money they shot them consecutively, and since the budgeting and everything wasn't up in the air, they could afford to do a cliffhanger. The original Matrix, on the other hand, had to have a sort-of ending that sort-of left the door open.

I saw the movie today and I think it was one of the best action movies I have ever seen. The combination of suspence, drama, action, love, and the whole sci-fi effect was superiorely drawn together. (sorry for the misspelling) The twin would have made the movie longer and better. But it was great without it.

So I'm not the only one to notice the resemblance. That scene gave me renewed faith that a dbz live action movie won't suck completely.
Anyway I saw the movie last night. It was good, not as good as 1, better than 2. If you completely ignore the story and continueing plot, you've got one of the most amazing action movies ever, if for only that reason. Anyone else get freaked out by the people standing on the ceiling? |
I finally seen reloaded last night, man did it stink. I figured "Yeah, Matrix, it will at least be good for action scenes".
Is it just me or did the fights come off as just being a bunch of people shaped objects bouncing around the screen in slow motion? They got to the point where they didn't even look like they were fighting. If they had of replaced most of the bullet time with normal time it could have been much better. |

Yes, but the running time would've been like 37 minutes. :P

Most of the action scenes in that stank because of all the stupid slow-mo crap, but I did like the action scenes with the men in white with dreads, they were pretty cool.

<font color=red>Do not read this post unless you have already seen the movie. Really. Don't. You'll be sorry if you do. DITTO! lol </font> a. did neo die or what? Let's take another look at the "source"... In terms of the Matrix, the "source" is the program code that governs everything... However, in terms of reality, the "source" refers to whatever power it is that governs everything... Our real world has a "source"... It may or may not have been "programmed" by a higher power, but it is in essence, a source... What Neo was seeing after his blindness was the "source" of the real world... Think of it more like energy... Ki energy, in fact, is the closest thing to whatever that was... The "force" to use Star Wars terminology... But of course, since the Bros. are anime fans, and many parts of the trilogy are anime-inspired, I wouldn't doubt if they took the concept of "ki" from oriental cultures (it's used in many anime titles... if they didn't take it directly from DBZ...it could have easily come from another) and used it in the movie... So, in terms of religious thought, what happens when we die? We return to the "source"... This is especially the case in Taoism, in which death sends your energy back into the omnipresent ki energy stream that flows throguh everything... So Neo could have in fact returned to the "source"... Just not the "source" we were expecting... Neo died, and his energy returned to the "source" of the real world... (it definitely looked to me in that scene when they were carrying him away, that his body was emitting a huge amount of energy, that seemed to be radiating outward away from him... signifying that his energy was passing out into the "source"? perhaps...) b. are we to really believe that the machines will just unpulug everyone and everyone will be friends? The Architect himself questions this in the end... "How long do you think this "peace" will last?" (or something of that nature) Yup, they made a deal with Neo... And as such, they are leaving the humans in peace... The Matrix was recreated, and most of the humans will remain hooked into it... .The machines most likely will just leave everyone alone to do as they please, now... No agents, no sentinels... Just let the humans live in their virtual reality, or choose to wake up from it into the real reality... They'll be taking a laissez-faire approach, basically... c. what the hell was with the trainman and was was he and the merovincian in the film for like 2 minutes? The Trainman was another rogue program that the Merovingian had under his control... The Trainman was special, though, in that he programmed, and controlled a special offshoot of the Matrix that worked as a transfer station for programs to and from the real world... Neo got stuck in the "limbo" between the two, and could only be brought out by the Trainman, who in turn, would only transport him if the Mero told him to do so... Therefore, Neo's friends had to go "convince" the Mero to let him out... d. why did the build up a great cliffhanger (neo passes out after stopping sentinenls) only to kill it in 2 minutes? It served its purpose... The fans were left hanging for a few months, during which time a billion theories flew around... There's no need to drag out the real explanation, the fans have already discussed it to death...lol e. what was that fettish scene in the dance thingy suppost to be? I assume you're refering to all of the leather and such (and a brief lesbian scene) in the Mero's club... Basically, that is there to show the Mero's character... He is a program that likes to indulge in "forbidden" acts... Therefore, his club reflects his tastes... f. what the hell was with the little girl? Actually, I believe she is there to represent a new beginning... In fact, in the end, when they're admiring the sunset/sunrise, she comments that she made it to honor Neo... As the Oracle tells us, there is a program to govern all natural occurances in the Matrix... The sun would be one of those... The little girl is the program that controls the dawn... Symbolizing a new day, of course... In semi-related news, and this is a spoiler from the Enter the Matrix game: The Oracle tells Niobe that the Merovingian destroyed her old body because her access code was given to him by two programs that betrayed her to protect their child (or something along these lines... I forget the exact wording)... The little girl is that child, and the two that betrayed the Oracle are the girl's parents... Obviously, this must've been his price for helping them... Oddly enough, the girl came to be in the care of the Oracle...lol I'll have to replay that scene in ETM to see if the wording of her speech about this mentions that... h. why didn't neo save trinity? he obviouslly could, since he was "the one" in not only the matrix but in the real world? I agree here... I had that same thought, but I realized that there are definitely differences in the two situations that might prevent him from being able to do the same thing the second time... i. where did the twins go? were they dead? wtf??? Nope, they were killed in the explosion of their SUV near the end of the highway chase... In the fire of the explosion, you can see them rising up, and they appear to be in their ghost forms... However, they are also screaming in pain, and most likely dying... So, they're dead... I'm sort of wondering idly about the battle tactics of the squiddies in the Zion fight; all that swarming around like bees, why didn't they just separate out into smaller groups and go for as many targets as they could see all at once? They were whizzing around, almost being sitting targets, for half the time. Although I guess the mechs were being fairly effective at picking them off one by one, so large groups were probably safer... I wondered that, too... I kept seeing huge swarms fly past the mechs, but not doing anything to them... It would be so much easier for them to just swarm everything they saw, but they didn't... Of course, if the bad guys used proper fighting strategy in fiction, then the good guys would never win...lol It's a very old tradition to have stupid bad guys...lol |

It's pretty much what I thought, too (except my expression of it wasn't nearly as well-developed as yours! =) ). They'll be taking a laissez-faire approach, basically... I should really play that game sometime. =D Nope, they were killed in the explosion of their SUV near the end of the highway chase... In the fire of the explosion, you can see them rising up, and they appear to be in their ghost forms... However, they are also screaming in pain, and most likely dying... I knew I should have watched Revolutions more than once. =P I'm sort of wondering idly about the battle tactics of the squiddies in the Zion fight; all that swarming around like bees, why didn't they just separate out into smaller groups and go for as many targets as they could see all at once? They were whizzing around, almost being sitting targets, for half the time. Although I guess the mechs were being fairly effective at picking them off one by one, so large groups were probably safer... A very old, and very necessary one. =) I suppose you could justify it by saying they're acting on "instinct" or something, rather than properly coordinating their attack. Although with that many of them, they could have done some serious damage anyway. If even a single one managed to hit certain people (the resupply trolleys, the rocket launchers), they wouldn't have been able to hold the dock for nearly as long as they did. And the door would never have been opened, and the ship would not have been able to get in, and the EMP blast wouldn't have been there to give the defenders a bit of breathing space before the next wave... Anyway, my point is this. This is a very basic principle of attack: Avoid your enemy's strengths and concentrate on their weaknesses (supply lines, for example). And don't wander around waiting for the enemy to cut you down. That's just suicidal. =P </rant> Anyway, apart from that gripe with the Zion battle, I quite liked the movie. Strangely, a lot of my friends seem to think it wasn't very good. *shrug* I shall have to eviscerate them someday. =P |

Then you should be glad they cut the scene of Neo walking across water while transmuting it into wine and then into blood.

I highly doubt they replaced adjectives with verbs. That would make them look very singing.
