On July 21st, I'm going to be leaving for bootcamp for the Navy, where I'll be spending two months essentially cut off from the outside world. They're going to teach me the ins and outs of being a proper Sailor, in every sense of the word. After that, I'm going to be spending six months in Maryland at Fort Meade training as a Mass Communications Specialist.
I got to thinking as I did my regular rounds of checking for notifications, "Surely, I'm not the only one that's going BYOND the call of duty and serving in my countries military." You can guess where I'm going here. I'm just curious who all of our Military members are here.
I also went to the shooting range the day before yesterday to get some hands-on experience with a 9mm Beretta to get me better prepared to earn a Marksmanship ribbon when I get to bootcamp. Picture linked to below is me.

Good luck, friend! There was a point in my life where I wanted to become a USAF (United States Air Force) officer almost exclusively for the chance to pilot fighter jets, but I decided that probably wasn't what I wanted to do.

You're not the only one I know of at least four members who are with or were with some form of military in the USA.

Fair enough. The military life isn't for everyone, and when I signed my contract right after the second semester of my Senior year of high school started, I still wasn't sure if it's what I wanted. The more I thought, the more I realized that deciding to join the military was the right move for me because it'll help teach me to remove myself from the equation, and calculate it with my team as a whole. I've always been a team player, but I still felt that I needed a lot of work to grow as a person; and that's why I joined. If I walk away with nothing else, the one thing I want from the Military is personal growth. |

I'm part of the army of internet neckbeards if that counts.

My sperm donor was in the military and I was born on Andrews Air Force Base. No interest in the military but hey, you'll be sharing a state with Kumo. (;

I'm former Air Force. I served mostly JTF, so i lived a lot more like army than AF, though. Good luck. Keep your mouth shut and do what you are told. It's all you have to remember.

I'm never going to join the military.
I already spent half of my life in a war zone. Called Detroit. |

I mean, I wasn't there to witness my Dad banging my Mom, so I don't have any solid proof that my Mom wasn't artificially inseminated. The plot thickens. |
