I was wondering what is your favorite BYOND Game that came out within the last years and why. I just want to know what games you all like. For me my current favorite byond game is Never Ending Quest. If you don't know what this game is it is a game similiar to MJ(M.MJ == "Mysic Journey") but in my opinion MUCH better than MJ. Unlike MJ there is a world talk in the game which allows the users to get to know eachother and gets rid of the lonely feeling you get in MJ.

MJ does have world talk. aYou just have to open the server channel and use server talk verb. MJ is way better than N.E.Q. cause first of all, N.E.Q, not to brag, is a rip of MJ but its still good.

Isn't MJ a rip of another game. A fan game or something???

Duel Monsters Online. For a game that is technically a chat room with a battle system, it has an insane amount of replay value.
I think the key selling point for me is that it's "complete". The game is still being worked on, but there are no "under contruction" areas of the game. I find most games go on the HUB as soon as they have something playable, then just throw random features at it until they quit the project. The game is also very well polished/consistant. A lot of BYOND programmers don't bother spending a weekend going back through and spit shining everything, or making sure that the all the HTML pages share the same layout. |

That's a pretty good game. What I didn't like about it though was the fact you started out with all the cards and didn't earn them by defeating others. And by starting out with all the cards you lose a feature that could really be fun "Trading".

Yeah, but you also lose the "Oldbies have everything" feature. Plus, to play Duel Monsters you need a good deck. With the 600+ cards in the next version it would take forever to build one if you brought them in the five card packs.
Not to mention it was built as a Dueling utility, not a Yu-Gi-Oh! game. You'll notice that Kajika went out of his way NOT to put any Yu-Gi-Oh! references in there, other then the starter decks (Even then it's only because those are the offical "themes" of the deck). |
