Well this would be a useless post of a website of useless information.. but holy crap, i'm 17 and this makes ME feel old... They take a bunch of kids around 11 years old and make them play old atari and even older games, and then tell us what they say.. man oh man...

I like the Space Invader game and Super Mario game. The grafics is not wat make it good game! But I dont rely like Pong very much. And I like Tetris game, maybe it wood be good if ther was sum options that make red blocks explode wen thay hit yelow blocks.

This came up earlier but it proves my contempt towards our youth is not unfounded.

I'm only 15 and those little kids insulted all the games I play! How could they say that about Pong or Tetris??? The only thing I agreed with them was the Handheld Football, because that's just silly. Wouldn't it be a never ending succesion of penalties due to hand ball? (Get it?)

Well here's how I'll explain it so all the kiddies can understand: If you've ever played Maro Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Final Fantasy 10, etc.. You ahve played updated versions of games that came out on the old NES. Back then, it wasn't the grahpics that excited us, it was the CONCEPTS. New games had new gameplay. Everything today is based on something thats been made and remade for over 10 years.. Its generalized to: FPS, Racing, War Stragity, Sim Stragity, Puzzle, Platform, fighting, adventure, and Sports. which has been out for at LEAST 8 years.. COME ON PEOPLE.. theres GOTTA be something origional somewhere.. The last origional thing to come out that I know of is DDR, which, if i'm nto mistaken, became a huge hit..
[edit] OH, and my I add, the Death of real adventure games after King's Quest 6 (KQ7 was a joke, and KQ8 was not KQ at all!).. Adventure games are the only games that can keep me playing for more than few weeks (100% serious.. I played FF11 for 2 weeks and got bored..) |
Funny that they have old these complaints but yet many people the same age still play BYOND games. :P

Game companies only make what sells, since money is their only objective. If you want games made in the style of "classic" games, that is, made for the game, not for the graphics, then you have to turn to fan-made or freeware games.

The article wrote:
Niko: In those days it was like, "Whoa—awesome!" But now…it's no Splinter Cell. Tim: This is nothing compared to Grand Theft Auto III, because you can't steal a taxi cab, pick up somebody, then drive into the ocean with him. Kirk: And you can't pick up an AK-47 and go kill—hey, those aliens on the top row, you use them in EGM for stuff. I never actually bothered to look, but I'm guessing Splinter Cell is at least 4 years ahead of the kid as far as ratings go, and GTAIII is way out of their league. That's the problem with parents, no respect for the rating system. *Rings up the boot camp guy off Jenny Jones or what ever it's called* |

I've gotten pretty addicted to those Atari games. On some asteroid game thing I got so high a score the numbers had to reset to zero. I could play infinettaly long. But eventually I got bored and played another game. Tht volloey ball game is hard though.

It's because they look at what works, and then just make it again with new shiny graphics. The objective of the game companies it to make what sells. The objective of the executives is to cover their rear ends. If they decide a team should persue work on a RTS(*cough*C&C Clone*cough), and it fails, they can't really get into trouble since it worked before. If they try to be INNOVATIVE, and it fails, they'll be trying to hide from their bosses for quite a while.
