Ok, ok....I know. The Super Contest...well, died. But, I have decided to finish it, using what Judges are still on board, the entries, and prizes that are usable. I have decided to use Kunarks judging criteria that he suggested.
Interface (This includes how well the loging in is handled, how the user interacts with the world (Such as macros, HUD, etc.), how saving is handled (If there is any.), and how things are displayed like commands/stats/etc.)
Gameplay (This would be how easily the player can get started in the game without becoming lost on what to do, and how fun the actual playing of the game was to the judge (They must not give low scores just because it is a genre they don't like, however. They need to think how fun it would be if they actually liked the genre.).)
Graphics (This would be the graphics of everything in the game overall. This category should not be a very big-counting category however, for not many people have graphical talent at all.)
Originality (This would be if you could tell that person actually used their heads to make the game, if they had to completely copy the idea or if they just compacted a bunch of ideas from other things.)
Single Player Fun (This would count if the game is fun during single player. Most games will have either a) multiplayer or b) single player, but if one has both, it gets extra points. These two categories will not give too many points.)
Multiplayer Fun (Refere above, but this time it is for Multiplayer.)
Music/Sound (This does not count much either, but this is how well the music and sounds were put in the game. They don't need to be original, but will gain more points if they are original and good.)
Content (This would be how much gameplay the game had put in it. Example: A tetris game with 1 level wouldn't get as many points here as one with 99 levels.)
Overall Fun (This is where the judge can boost it some extra points if they liked it a lot. It is how much fun they had with the game.)
Every category will be awarded between 1 and 10 points, and the winner will be the one with the most overal points.

Scoooooby, I can chip some dimes in, let me balance my wallet and ill see what I can donate to the cause.
Ill donate 24 for first place, 17 for second, and 7 for third(this is another part of my obsessive efforts to keep my wallet to an even number >.> ) Ok, edited the prizes section to include my donations, hope this give a tad bit more incentive for good games. It would be nice if we could get a couple more people to donate money for prizes, maybe get first place up to 100 dimes. | |
If the deadline was a bit later, I might have decided to enter my BYONDscape contest entry, provided that's allowed. =) No way I'm going to finish it in less than a week, though!
