I believe that the preferred method is emailing [email protected], and following the instructions from there. I'm not sure about that, though.

Oh my god. I swear I did not do this on purpose. Ill do anything to get back on BYOND, anything. Behold the hub entry that justified your ban: Icon Unlimited Coding For Free Becaseue this is what happens when youinsault me Dranzer_Solo. And this is what happens when you think you can give out other people's code out of spite. Since you say you're willing to do anything to get back on BYOND, I have good news for you. All you have to do is wait out a week and not do this stuff again. Lummox JR |

ok at least this guy isn't giving it for free. http://developer.byond.com/hub/azn978/IconAgentsSrcCode I think since he is not giving it away you should just delete the entry and tell him never to do it again. But whatever

hehehe*deletes entries*I don't see anything :) I got those icons in a library(I don't know which one) and the site is something my bro added without my permsion. So I will have to fix that. And if they put the icons in a library it is like giving you their permision to sell/give them out. Plus nobody buys it anyways -_-

Wrong. The original creator of any piece of work owns the copyright on that piece of work until/unless \he decides to give it up. The fact that the creator distributes something does NOT give you permission to do the same. Not unless the creator explicitly grants that permission, usually in writing. If you hadn't deleted the hub entries, be assured that the BYOND staff would have. At least you did the right thing there. |

Air Mapster, but if it was in a freely available library, it was obviously meant to be included in your game to use as you see fit.

That's true (though technically the library could have a license such as the GPL which limits how you may distribute a work that uses it). But you do not automatically have the right to redistribute the library itself without obtaining proper permission. There's a difference. |

krew is a good friend of mine, and hes new to byond hes got no clue of the morals and stuff.. it's like a new toy. it comes with a instruction manual with things not to do, but no one reads the manual (lol). Daniel |

Knowing right from wrong's got nothing to do with being new to BYOND or not. So many people say, "I had no idea there was a rule against selling other people's stuff!" or "I had no idea I wasn't supposed to crash all the servers!"... but how does that make things better? These aren't things you should need a manual to tell you.
Anyways, the matter with Krew has already been resolved, so there's little point in dragging this thread back into the limelight. |
