What are some good telnet compatible games on BYOND? I don't really know of anything beyond your basic MUDs. I don't want basic MUDs. I want something new and interesting. More TC games!
But in the meantime, does anyone know of any good existing ones?

So just because it is a mud, dosent mean it cant be fun. I never said they weren't fun. I've mastered two MUDs in my day. I currently own the most powerful set of characters aside from immortality on a MUD that I was playing for nearly 6 years. I know the vital statistics on every piece of decent equipment in the game (I've lored 99% of all existing equipment), and I know how to get to anywhere, from anywhere, provided it's possible. MUDs can be extremely fun. However I'm looking for something that ISN'T a MUD. If I want to play a MUD, I have plenty to choose from. But I don't want to play a MUD. A turn-based RPG or something would be great. Maybe an RTS game. (Yes, it's possible with text. Manifesto is vaguely similar.) ~Polatrite~ |

http://www.fairyland.com.my/download_game.htm i understand that this is "off topic", but how is fairyland a telnet game? personally, i found the fairyland turn-based combat to be really tiresome and old hat (*yawn*). my current favorite game in this genre is Priston Tale. |
This one kid had a semi graphical DBZ RPG for telnet, it was really freaking fun, and it used to have like 400 players a night on it. Combat was intresting and unique and everything. You would have to type like "left punch" or "left kick" depending on the monsters moves to win at combat and so on.
Another game, which was a mud for telnet, was both a Semi Graphical FF RPG and if you used the right browser, a Fully Graphical RPG with music. It was the complete first Final Fantasy, with elemts from all the other Final Fantays, PLUS more quests added in for when you beat the first game plot.
Both these games died, because there was too many players, and too few donations.
Another one I played, 8Bit Mush was like a cross between Sim CIty and Animal Crossing. Fun FUn. But the players were jack asses.
So just because it is a mud, dosent mean it cant be fun.
