That long? They don't have to keep it indefinitely. They only have to keep it for the rest of their lives. Besides, not everyone at NASA would need to know that it's a hoax.

But it was a big hoax... ;)
Certain pictures from some Apollo missions exhibit qualities that would seem to indicate that they were doctored.
