Heh I was wondering for a second about the layout until I noticed the date. Well not layout but color scheme.
Very well done, peeps at Dantom.
I would check it out, but damn school computers forbit the main site, since it has games on it. =( I hate my school.

Try different variations on the same URL:

www.byond.com
byond.com
games.byond.com

They all point to the same URL - but at my school, at least, only www.byond.com is blocked. =P

And how did it get blocked?

Their proxy server blocks certain pages. BYOND.com was blocked because it has games on it... which I think is silly because you can't play games just by going to the website, so it doesn't waste anyone's time, does it? =)

But their blocking mechanism only checks for "www.byond.com", which means there are heaps of ways to get around it. Hey, if they can't be bothered putting in a decent blocking system... =)

Schools always restrict certain urls, such as Google Images and the such.

I was just wondering. My computer lab this year wasn't even hooked up to the net. I haven't used any other computer in the school since I was a freshman, and those were ancient macs for typing class(the teacher was new, therefore had the worst equipment).

I have always been able to go to developer.byond.com, but never www./games.byond.com

Wow, if google-images was blocked for us, we couldn't photoshop all those images together for points in class!

It sure would! You lucky person, you.

Heheh plain silly my school just doesn't let us download thing from a website or goto porn and some other small restrictions that no one ever does bothering to do besides try to download games.

I watched someone lookup(from the side mind you, I was doing class work)cartoon porn in the library at one of my freshman high schools, then watched as the admins came in and hauled them off, it was quite funny.

Heh... that reminds me of the only time I've ever seen someone go to a porn website at school, and that was by accident. =) See, the teacher for one of our classes had given us a lesson in the computer lab for research, and she'd helpfully provided a list of relevant links.

For some reason - to this day I have no idea why or how - one of the links she'd provided (the first listed one, even!) had porn on it, interspersed with the rest of the content. So the entire class signed on to the computers, loaded up IE, went to the first URL on the sheet... and porn pops up on every single screen in the lab. It was pretty hilarious! =D The poor teacher was at a bit of a loose end, because she'd *told* us to go to that site... =D
