My monitor has been restarting(seems like a momentary power loss to me)for awhile now, and just a few minutes ago snapping sounds started going along with it, I'm really worried, any ideas what this could be?
sounds like a loose power cable to me..

DO NOT TRY TO FIX IT YOURSELF

unless the loose wire appears to be the plug where it goes into the outlet, there are inexpensive plug replacement kits around... and normally pretty save..

trying to resauder wires inside a monitor is extremely dangerous as demonstrated on the screensavers via a voltmeter touched against an open monitor after it had been unplugged, its best just to have it done professionally

the word he was looking for was "re-solder" but his point is valid. although the fix is relatively easy to do, it's best to get a shop to fix it, or if it is under warranty to have the manufactuer fix it.

if the monitor is old, it could also be any of the components that provide power to the tube (one of the most common failures is something known as the throw-back transformer in older monitors... it's just old age that cases them to fail most likely). regardless of the cause, better to get a shop to look at it.
