I was wondering if it was possible to open a .dmb file to see the icon files and code files. If this is possible, please tell me how!!

So, let me get this question clarified with the help of this little scenario: Thief: Hey, can you help me open this here jewelry store door, it's locked. Police Man: Sure, you want my wallet too? Pretty much, you shouldn't even be wondering how to do this. It's unethical to attempt and steal someone else' work and effort. |

geez, if i knew you were gonna bite my head off i wouldn't have asked...
I was only wondering because i am working with someone on his game, but his computer was whiped clean, and i had a .dmb file. That was all that was left of his game. I thought that i could open it and send it back, but no such luck... |
ok then, is there anything downloaded when you host that contains all of the game info, like code and icons?

The chance of getting the code back is pretty slim, unfortunately. However, the icons, sounds, and such are stored in the .rsc, and are easier to get. Unfortunately it's still pretty much Dantom who can do that, and they're very busy, so your friend will just have to start again from scratch. If there are any graphics you really need, you can always host the game, and then take the icons from the screenshots. |
Wow, I never knew you could get the code and icons from a .rsc, I've got a certain file I wouldn't mind refreshed.

You can't.
1. Resources such as .dmis are not stored in the .dmb.
2. Only Dantom would be able to decompile a .dmb, and I think that's only been done once, and the code they got out was barely legible.
