Damnd, i've been playing BYOND for over 2 years now..
and it's still FREE,
that's good of course...
but don't the BYOND coders (no not the game makers, the BYOND dreamseaker, etc. makers), get payed?

C++ (whatever it's coded with), is verry hard...
and i don't think people really code projects like BYOND for fun...

Nope. Rumor has it Tom won the souls of Air Mapster and Lummox JR playing poker with Death, but that's just a silly rumor, isn't it?

Not for these guys. They're all deadly swift with their languages. =P The real challange is in the size of BYOND.

Some people do. I'm guessing the motivation for a lot of the BYOND programmers is that they're BYOND users from way back. Some don't make it onto the forums much, but they're all big fans who are doing their part to make BYOND that much better.

I could definately see that, especially since I am a person who makes games (And don't bicker at me that it is much easier, I already know that.) only for the hobby. I think Dan and Tom and Air made BYOND in the first place simply because they wanted to make an efficient, easy to use game making system that still used language.
If you go to "What is BYOND?" (I think that's the right place to find it) You'll find a story about how BYOND started. At first it was just a thing to let people create their own spells for Dan and Tom's game. Then it became a real language and stuff.
