I recently receieved a broken XBox from a friend, knowing it was broken. It's receiving the infamous 'Christmas Lights' error, otherwise known as 'FRAG.' Online guides say that this usually occurs from a nonworking BIOs. I've opened it up and taken a look at what the problem could be. I noticed that there's a small piece missing from the nVIDIA chip. The entire thing has a black border, except in the upper left where a piece is chipped away revealing a gold inner. I believe this could be the problem. Does anyone know a way to fix this without replacing the whole HDD/mobo combo? Would a mod chip help? If anyone is scrapping their XBox, I'd be glad to take their hard drive and motherboard of their hands. =)
