Yes, I am in the market for a new PC and need some help. I'd like to get a powerful machine that can handle games like Counter Strike and Rainbow Six, and all those other monsterous FPS. I was thinking of getting something from http://www.ibuypower.com and buy the lowest priced model and just add a few ups to it. Could you help me out so I can get the most value yet a powerful machine.
I'd like something as good or better than those high priced alienwares, just at a fraction of a price, while not going over the $1000 limit. Thanks.

Building your own is always the best value. And CounterStrike doesn't need much to run it, I bet my 500mhrz computer with a TNT2 could run it at 30FPS. Http://www.newegg.com is a great site for great deals on parts. I do recommend doing a little homework before ordering parts, make sure they will all work together and whatnot. I have spent less than $500 on mine and it a 2.4ghrz P4, 512 DDR 3200, Asus MainBoard, ATI Radion 9800SE(With a new fan and overclocked to run just like a pro). That will run any game on the market with great settings. It ran Doom3 with maxed setting at 30-60 FPS.

I built my own computer and only paid 150 bucks. I have an 80 gig hard drive, a Ge Force 4 MX 3d card, a 3.2 ghz (I think! It is near that, at least), um...........What else? OH YEAH! A DVD Rom drive. All this I paid 150 bucks for but I worked for the guy who sold it all to me and he is a computer hardware specialist or something. Me and him build computers together at his house now and sell them and make money.

half life 2 comes out the 30th of next month suposibly... you might want to consider that a lot of new games are going to take it's engine and use it, along with the unreal 3 engine.

Haha...Isn't Counter Strike like 5 years old? My computer can handle it and it isn't anything special. I always thought CS was nothing big as far as system requirements go... |

A quick Google search turned up the minimum specs for Condition Zero:
# Windows 2000/NT/XP # Pentium III 500 MHz processor # 96 MB RAM # 16 MB Video Card # 500 MB HD Space Nothing particularly taxing. =) |
I added one of each things on the menu and I went past $1000, and some of my stuff was cheap, nothing to expensive. Who would I go to that would put all my components together?
