Let me explain to you what Card Manipulation, or Card Flourishing is. It is in laymen terms the act of taking a pack of 52 playing cards and performing stunts with them. I do this as a hobby and the professionals who can do this are crazy. Two of the best are De'vo Vom Schattenreich and Jerry Cestkowski.

If you have a deck of cards you can learn a few flourishes from De'vo's website. I will post it below. First to wet your feet, and prove to you that this isn't no kiddy stuff of turning a deck of cards over with one hand crap you must watch a video of these guys in action.

The main branches of Trick Manipulation are Pen Spinning, Cup Stacking, And Card Flourishing. Now this isn't your little 5 minute hobby. These people compete in a trial held in Ulmen Germany. The trials are called the Ulmen Trials and consist of 16 (i believe) stunts. The world's best card maniuplator can only make it to stage 9.

One of the stunts involves lighting both arms on fire, spreading a deck of cards on each arm evenly, tossing them up, and spinning around, and catching them. The ulmen trials get more impossible each year. 4 black cloaked figures stand by you as you perform each stunt.

The original Ulmen 4 made up impossible stunts that even they could not perform. Such as jumping up from solid ground, performing a triple backflip, while springing (shooting the cards from one hand to the other from a distance, one at a time in a fast motion) on the three flips. Here's a combo you WON'T see anyone else doing! The Flourishman has done it again! Here is the impossible Spinning Arm Spread catch, with a fan production! Here's how to do it, basically: 1) Do an armspread. 2) Turn it over. 3) Throw it in the air. 4) Spin your body all the way around. 5) Catch the falling armspread, and 6) Produce a fan. Impossible?
