Yea,thats a screen shot of me being clueless and trying to play naruto with 1.0mb and 200mhz.

I know only about 100 or less people even know how to get to these forums. so its not like your giving your secret away.(make sure you find an offer where i DONT need a credit card, and if the site does need a credit card maybe i can use one of your fake ones with NO money on it.)

Think 'FREE'....I know its out there somewhere...
The internet is too big..so lets try to work together.
What's wrong with that computer? It seems fine to me.

Oh and you have less than 0.0001% chance of finding a F.R.E.E computer, which means winning a ocmputer doesn't count.
Nothings free, and no one has "Fake" credit cards. This is a developers community not a hackers and crackers society.

You are running windows XP. I have a computer about 6 years old (That's right, from like 1998 or so) and my computer runs better than most people's new computers, and I use windows 98.

Why? I take care of it. I only had a problem with spyware a week ago and easily fixed it. Now my computer is better than ever.

If you want to do stuff like, uh, run Naruto movies better, clean and work on your computer you have now.

Otherwise, if you would like a cheap computer, uhhh, drive down to utah and go to Deseret Industries where you can find a computer more out of date than mine for about 20 dollars! What a deal!

My point? You have some high expectations of the internet if you think there are people giving away free computers.

Nothing is truely free like that, unless some multi-millionare wants to blow a crap-load of cash for nothing in return.

Free i-pod? It isn't truely free. You are still making some business with someone in some way. Free camcorder? Bull. You have to spend $90 within their sponsers.

Can it run Doom 3?

They wouldn't go out of their way to set up a website to give away computers if they didn't gain something from it and thus, it wasn't free.

actually, if you look around, you could find places that give away older computers for free, or nearly free (like a small 'take-it-away' charge). check the newspaper for local flea markets, or companies who are upgrading their computers and practically throwing out their older equipment.

dumpster-diving is another possibility, though you could be trespassing on private property.

I don't see why Doom 3's system reqs are so high. In most cases the reason this is, they didn't do any programming optomizing since the beta release. Why would they do that? Hmm... Look on The Geforce4 FX6800 and Alienware websites.

Bingo. Theres your answer.

System advertising.

The question is, how old? and would it be worth your time?
=P

Kunark is right, I run a 6 year old machine on 98SE. I have less problems out of it than my mother has out of her brand new computer. Only thing its had is a video card and RAM upgrade. Runs fine for my purposes.

off topic: When i was about 10 years old i found a laptop with win95 dumpster diving because that was all the rage with my friends. Its 5 years later and i still have it but the screen still has a few peices missing but it still works just needs some updating which i wont use that computer so theres no need to update it i just keep it to you know..have it =p

On Topic: now as for on-topic just look in your local news paper the bargin box or something and youll find some old computers that just need a new video card and some ram most of the times for arround 25 bucks.

No, the game has extream detail(for a game) and some really cool effect.

if you use it for new games, then don't go looking for free computers, because you'll have to be updating your computer every year to keep up with how advanced the games are.

In the case of D3 and other games, that has to do with processing power, graphics card, RAM, etc. Of course mine can't :) My bro's comp which is about 2 times as good in that aspect can hardly even run it.

Best game mine can hardly run would have to be like, Midnight Club 2, because I upgraded that equipment a year before.

If it wasn't optimized and running well, it wouldn't be in a beta stage. With graphics like that the requirements are quite reasonable.
