I just want a general opinion on what you think of two templates, how it could be improved, and which one you like better, thanks...

I'd have to say the first one. It looks more professional, rather than the gradiented boxy second one.

The Zero-Crash text will be hard for certain setups to read against the dark blue background, a white or light blue stroke, slight bevel, lighter graphic behind the text or something else would make this stand out much more. Template 2 - http://www.zero-crash.com/template2.html I like this one better, mostly because it's different. I'm guessing navigation will go in the left box, necessary but uses up a lot of space for the content. Putting navigation across the top or bottom, then having the blue curves aligned absolute right and left would get rid of the cramped feeling. Like this. A general thing I would suggest is use more then two colors in different shades. Try adding in a third color complimentary to the blue. |
Personally I think they're flat and poorly made.
I don't know what it is but I look at that and cringe. |
Template 1 - http://www.zero-crash.com/index2.phpToo naked looking, its kinda ugly, and the images dont match, + they dont go with the white background. Template 2 - http://www.zero-crash.com/template2.htmlJust plain creepy. It also suffers from Gamefaqs syndrome(Too much blank space). And un-valid http://validator.w3.org/ check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.zero-crash.com%2Ftemplate2.htm Also, Divs >> Tables, why use a center tag? their evil Learn XHTML and use external style sheets |

Too much blank space? No such thing! Well, maybe if there's HEAPS. But blank space is a key design element. Cluttered pages are hard to read and make people miss things.
I like GameFAQs' new layout, personally, the old one was much too cluttered. |

I like number one, other then the hard to read text on the left side. I think that is where it was... Anyways, I would pick the second one, unless you adjusted the text on the first one.
