See, the thing is, i'm not a fake. I'm real and no one can handle me, even if i'm being funny.

"Nope, wrong. I'm worth more than anyone else. I'm priceless. ;) And I never said I don't like you."

Well, that's not very fair. How are you priceless and i'm worthless? Why are you any better then someone else? You're speaking from your own mind, what you think people think about you.

I guess my only comment is that i'm tired of working so hard and always ending up with nothing. So i'm worn out of losing all the time, so what? :P
In response to Xooxer
See, i did, and no one even knew or cared. That's what makes a person quit.

That's very fair. To me, I'm worth more than anything. To you, it's probably the same. You can't rightly get along in life without yourself, now can you? And I never said you're worthless. Who's assuming now? I said I'm worth more than anyone else, which I think I am. I don't really care how others think of me, it's me that matters. Ego isn't all bad.

He was being sarcastic and cheeky. At least about the first part, anyway.

Well, you can't expect people to care about what they do not know, and you can't expect them to know what they aren't told. You didn't tell us you were going off to do something productive, so we didn't know. If we didn't know, how can we not care? I actually figured you had gone off and did something else, because you didn't reply to my posts. See someone noticed you were gone.

I didn't mean to say someone said i'm worthless, I feel that way most of the time visiting byond. :D

Well, don't let my shinning brilliance blind you to your own merits. :D

What posts?

And yes, I have made posts about all of the things I released specific to byond. And still, no one knows it exists. But if I talk about it, make a post, I get insulted or flamed for something I did wrong that someone didn't like.

I'm usually in my best moods when work on one of my projects is being done. I'm in a spot where I can't do anything because it's out of my knowledge now. The core systems, battle, party, inventory, and so forth. I feel selfish when I ask for help.

Pardon my ignorance, but I wasn't able to find anything you've made, or even proposed to make. I checked your posts and your portfolio, but nothing is there. If you released them under another key, you can't expect us to know it was you. And if someone is flaming you for posting about the things you've made, they're in the wrong, and should be dealt with by the mods. It's sentiments like this that keep the mods actively moderating, so people aren't made to feel they aren't welcome here.

Sometimes trying to help someone else makes me feel better about working on my own things. I know it's not the same as not wanting to ask for help yourself, but it might lighten the burden you're feeling. If you give, other people will too. That's what's so great about communities, communicating and sharing ideas.

I feel like i've continued to give, and never recieve.

[EDIT] Guess it pays when people actually like you in the first place. Friends = oppurtunities. :D

friends != opportunites, or at least should not be relied on to do so. bling-bling = opportunites, which begats friends (the shallow ones anyway)

I've only had the shallow ones. :/

That doesn't work in the defense of the 'moderators are too uptight' side at all. All it means is the community can't follow simple guidelines. If anything it means that the moderators need to work harder to get the message across that it's not acceptable.

Maybe these people are rebeling for some other reason? Maybe they aren't just "rebelious kids" like all you old fogies think they are. Byond has a sick way of pissing people off, and then making them look like the bad guys. So, atleast try to see it there way too, if you don't, then you're all hypocrites.

If someone above, lets say 20, is acting like a rebellious kid, then it's most likely done with the conscious intent of destroying for others. I'm my opinion, such a person should take a long time off from Byond (by himself or in the form of a ban) and maybe see a psychologist, do something productive, find the purpose of life, anything that is not destructive.

My point is this: If they aren't just rebellious kids but are still rebelling, the mods have full justification to remove them from the forum for good. Uncivilized behaviour can be forgiven up to a point in young people, but not really in an adult, who is supposed to be a functional member of a society.

And no, this example can not be compared to suicide. As Xooxer said, there is life after Byond. Life after death? Perhaps, but let's not push it shall we?

Ok, unlike our universe, it has been proven there is life after BYOND. Leaving BYOND is no where near the same thing as leaving this world. Most sane people will remove themselves from a distasteful situation, if given the choice. The choice exists here, I'm just pointing it out.

first off, let me point out the totally obvious fact: you are wrong.

the choice always exists here, but that doesn't mean its the best choice. he also has the choice to run to the supermarket and buy a cantaloupe, but just because the choice exists that doesn't mean it would solve everything, or anything.

the mods seems to be getting stricter now, but they are punishing people for things that were always against the rules, but not necessarily behavior that had been punished in the past.

[the mods] aren't going to allow blatantly abusive, rude and innapropriate behavior here

what if its a moderator that's exhibiting blatantly abusive behavior? that seems to be an issue here, because one person said something that might be against the rules, but they were joking and they still got punished. so we can't question the moderators' actions? oh i bet you wouldn't mind if they permanently banned you for no reason.

Um, wrong about what? The fact that BYOND isn't the end-all be-all for existence, or the fact that people tend to shy away from things they don't like? Explain, in detail, please. You have me completely baffled.

the choice always exists here, but that doesn't mean its the best choice. he also has the choice to run to the supermarket and buy a cantaloupe, but just because the choice exists that doesn't mean it would solve everything, or anything.

In the case of BYOND pissing him off, removing himself from BYOND would solve it. I don't see your point about the melon. I think you're arguing just to argue, now.

what if its a moderator that's exhibiting blatantly abusive behavior? that seems to be an issue here, because one person said something that might be against the rules, but they were joking and they still got punished.

I don't see that as abusive behavior. I see it as an inevitable conclusion to an innapropriate situation. It's not the mods' job to read our minds, they can't know he was joking. They saw a disrespectful and rude post by a person who is known for disrespectful and rude posts, and banned him because he is a repeat offender. Only after he was banned did it come out that he was just joking, I doubt he was. He's probably just saying that in hopes that it will get his ban lifted. I guess he should have considered those warnings he recieved before calling someone a loser, joking or not.

so we can't question the moderators' actions?

Sure, you can question them all you want, but don't expect an answer. They don't have to answer to you, me or any other forum goer. They report to Tom, and he makes final decisions on the actions taken by the mods. The mods themselves call each other on actions they might percieve as too harsh, and everyone usually discusses the actions after they are taken.

oh i bet you wouldn't mind if they permanently banned you for no reason.

Hey, it's their loss. And I am not worried about that anyways. I do not conduct myself in a way that would warrant a moderator action. The mods don't just ban people on a whim, they could, but they don't. They aren't tyrants like some people make them out to be. They're just folks like you and me trying to help Dan and Tom bring this community to a better, friendlier place.

Wow I never imaganed that there would be so many posts, I was just wondering, thats all. And for the people who pointed a finger at me, I hardly attack every single person on these forums, so get over it.

Yeh Ive been banned once for a week, and I wasn't complainig about that, especially since Im back on the forums. But I would hardly call myself a trouble some user, especially since every single person on these forums can be blamed for at least one out burst from time to time.
