I have a beplaced, it's a nice site. I had to search for about six hours to find it, though... I think I posted it on the forums once. Is that how you found it?

Actually, I think it is. Or, at least, I remember that I found it on the forums.

http://www.hostultra.com I believe has all of that, except 1 megabyte file upload limit. :p

Maybe, but their TOS disallows "download sites of any kind, including but not limited to, shareware, freeware, trialware, demos, warez, appz, gamez, iso, cracks;", "sites which contain only (or mostly) downloadable files; ", and finally, requires that "Your account must get at least 10 (ten) Unique Hits per Week. ". A BYOND-hosting site would get deleted within a week, guaranteed.

Of course, if you just want to make a game-related website, that's a good place, providing that you have a game popuplar enough to get 10 new users per week (You could always make the browser direct them to it when they login)

They're cheap and have fast reliable servers. :)

Simply stated, DreamHost kicks ass. They've probably got more than you'd ever need of anything, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, especially as it seems like they're constantly upgrading services. They obviously care about their customers. Like this month they're doing a "sign up in December and get triple bandwidth forever!" thing for new customers... and also giving it to all their existing customers.

Usually when companies do a sign up promotion and you're an existing customer you have to call and beg through two or three levels of customer service, threaten to cancel, ask why you can't just cancel and re-join to get it, and threaten to cancel over the cancellation fees they threaten you with before a manager gives you the special offer. :P

*cries*

*cries harder*

because I didn't realize that they only accept paypal (I thought it was going to be them only accepting credit card.), I ended up transferring my paypal stuff to my credit card, which just takes an annoyingly long time to process with paypal, and then I realized about them not accepting anything else, so i try to cancel my withdrawl.. But noooo, paypal has to put it in legal paperwork or something so it's not possible to, even though im just going to likely transfer all the money back to paypal.

The point of this being: I missed out on this delightful host because they are so close to their maximum customers now, and by the time paypal snails into even my bank account, it'll be too late. :( Looks like no website for me.

hopefully doteasy will allow me to make a website on their servers once I get a domain name from another source (which is cheaper.).

Yearly. Not monthly. I make $16 in a couple of hours.

Heh, the second I saw that post, I went and bought myself a package... I think I was #245...

That is an incredible hosting deal! I bought the second-tier thing (I forget all of the specs, but it was the second from the bottom plan), and ended up paying only $30 for the entire year!

Amazing...

But for those that missed out, don't worry... It sounded like he plans on opening up again... Perhaps these first 250 are only "beta testers"?
