I have the 5200, and i'm about to replace it. It isn't a very decent card seeing as how it's at the bottom of the FX line. You can easily bump it up for more performance and cooling. Mine has crashed because it got so hot, but never melted. They are good cards, but with todays games i suggest a 256 for your money.

I wouldnt go lower than an ATI 9800 or g-force 5900.
http://nvidia.com/page/home http://ati.com/ if you really want power use 2 g-force g800 ultras ( you need 2 extra pci-express slots. |
New Question.
Geforce fx 5200 or Radeon 9200SE? the radeon costs more but im willing if its that much better. |

I think it was that one. A quick search on google shows that some of the previous generation's cards end up beating it. |

There are still cards above the 5900 in the FX series. You just can't find them. They are usually reserved for bulk buying from companies and hae to be ordered in person, or over the phone. Or something.
Anyway, 5600 is right in the middle (Well, better then middle) and provides a decent ammount of statistics. I'm sure i will enjoy that card over my 5200, slow piece of crap. |

New Question. The Geforce series has much more compatability with everything over Radeons cards. Like i suggested, get the 5600. It's a 256 MB Card, the 5200 is only a 128mb. |
