Jesus does not have a single form across Christian religions. Many people are not Christian. No. I am not not surprised that a figure on television is easier for children to recognize.

The pledge of allegiance is generally not said outside of school. It is also not binding. No. I am not surprised that people out of school find a phrase on television easier to recognize.

I have heard of Supersize Me, but I have not watched it.

Well, Last night I watched this thing where they talked about fast food people putting certain ingredients in the food to make people 'need' or 'want' it all the time. Dunno if this has anything to do with your post, but, it made me think if it. :D.
