Which would be better for my computer i have like $145.

Wanted: AMD ATHLON XP 2800+ 2.08 GHz (buy value $85)
I have: AMD Athlon XP 2000+ 1.7 GHz (sell value ~$50)

Wanted: Geforce FX 5200 (buy value ~$70)
I have: Geforce2 MX (sell value ~$5)(lol)

I can buy them both with -10 dollars left i can sell my processor to my older brother for i dont know how much. I can sell the geforce to. Any Idea whihc will help more?

I am buying new system upgrades because of modern games are crashing my computer... Such as Rome:Total war.

It depends on what exactly you are upgrading for. If you want to play a 3D game you can't right now, the video card. If you want applications to load faster, the CPU. If you want overall system performance to increase, get some RAM. Tell us what exactly your upgrading for =)

Video card, you far exceed the requirements they have setup on your CPU. You just meet the requirements they have for your video card.

but its very slow. it sometimes even freezes

The game is slow, or your computer? An Athlon XP 2000+ shouldn't freeze, even in the game. If your computer freezes at random outside of the game, your CPU is likely not at fault.. If you mean its skipping by running slowly, than you are looking for a new video card.

Yes but my father has less ram better processor and equal video card and yet it runs perfectly with no slowing.

I highly doubt upgrading the CPU is going to solve your problem, you likely have something ELSE slowing your machine and eating CPU. You need to check for spyware, malware, viruses, and the like. If you can reinstall Windows do that, otherwise do a system restore.

I got my new computer for Christmas, it's only 488 MB RAM.

I think that might have been a typo... you can't have 756MB of RAM, but you can have 256MB. Or 768MB.

Sometimes machines can have an amount of RAM set aside for use on the motherboard, and it will display a lesser amount in the OS.
You have a good proccesor I would just suggest upgrading you're video card. GeForce2 MX is a sucky video card(to put it simply).

I would suggest getting a GeForce FX 5700, 128MB DDR. Its about $150 though. Which is a little over you price range.

Really? Never seen that happen, all my computers report the correct value.

Those must be pretty crappy motherboards if you ask me. ;-P
