Get on MSN. Oh, thats not the answer to your question by the way.
Do not use .bmp on the internet...

why not...
My mother's computer had something similar, I THINK checking the startup programs and removing the ones that looked suspicious fixed the problem. Start -> Run -> msconfig go to the start-up tab and remove everything. Delete them, reboot. See if they come back. If they don't, it was something in that. Put them all back and start removing them until you figure out which one(s) it is ;)

They're HUGE! PNGs, GIFs, or JPGs are much smaller.
Wow, The odd thing about it, THE SAME THING happened to me earlier today I can't Freaking move them >_<
Can I assume this is something that was downloaded automatically and installed on your computer while you were browsing or something?

You can't tell the whole web to do that, or all the people looking at the picture. Plus the BMP format was never meant for the web. Plus, if you're paying for the bandwidth, saving a few KB here and there can add up.

Here are the filesizes for that pic, in different formats:
BMP: 770KB
GIF: 182KB (76% smaller)
PNG: 514KB
JPG: 72KB (91% smaller)

I can, and I will.
You have either a) Spyware/adware, or b) a virus. Run S&D and then scan for viruses.

Ok, but that is going to take you a while :P

The fact is, using .bmp files caused me not to look at his problem, since the only, reasonably priced ISP where I live is poor dialup. I'm not going to spend a few minutes of my time waiting for those images to download, when the person who wanted help could have easily posted them in a web friendly format. And who knows, maybe I would have been able to help.

By the way, if you would like to open up a cable or DSL ISP out here where I live, I'd be more than happy to sign up :P

Use the programs in the Ad/Spyware removal section and the free virus scanner, that should fix the problem. Make sure they are fully updated before using them.
