I need to choose ANY topic to talk about in front of an english class as part of my coursework.
I can't decide what I should talk about though. My teacher says it can be anything.
Any suggestions APART from the tsunami.

![]() Anyway...probably the best topic would be one that affects as many of your classmates directly as possible. Look for something around your school that most of the students talk about (minus rumors) and try to build off of that. |

Topic: Why Did the USA go into Iraq. The USA have always wanted to penetrate Suddam Hussein and his evil country, they just needed an excuse to do it, so they thought "I KNOW, LETS PRETEND THEY HAVE NUCLE0R WEAPONS?" And the other guys were like "OMFG THATS LIKE UBER C00L LOL OMGWTF!!11!!111!1one!11!eleven!11" |
You are not helping this guy at all. Shame Shame on you all.
There are lots of things you could discuss, the problem is, with your question is, we are telling you what to think and what to discuss when it should be your choice. You need to choose something that effects your friends and family members in the general area, but also somethign that will keep them awake and intrested. Above all else, try to have a funny side to it too, everyone loves a good laugh, and I even managaed to get some out in my health class when I discussed Abortion, blieve it or not. |

A good speaker can make ANYTHING funny, if they really want to. =) It's a good way of keeping your audience interested (which teachers tend to mark highly, I've noticed).

I walked in to doing a speech on Work experience. Meant to be 2 minutes long. Everyone drawled, being boring, reading from their notes/speech. Naturally, I'd forgotten about any speech- so I walked up there and did a continous, non-stopping stand-up rutine on my word experience placement for 7 minutes until the teacher signalled me to stop abrubtly. Sure, I touched on none of the stuff I was meant to, but I still got a low A. |
That's the way to do it. =D That's how I get through most of my speeches.
The most common phrase seen on my speech assessment sheets (that the teacher gives back when they've marked your speech) is "Be more prepared next time". =P Thing is, when I do prepare, my speeches tend to suck... |

For the past few Geography and History lessons I've actually used flash as a presentation! It rocked! No other kid had Stephen Hawking and Ho Chi Minh fighting it out in bullet time... |

I don't know if library laptops (which my school uses for the projector that's used for Powerpoint speeches) have the Flash player installed, but that'd be easily fixed.
