---Rant--- Today I went to the movies to go see Meet The Fockers but when I got there, it was sold out (it was only 1:30 P.M.! I was an idiot and did not goto Fandango to pre-order the tickets but I did not expect a movie that has been out for three months to be sold out, especially at 1:30 P.M.) Well, when I found out that Meet The Fockers was sold out, I bought tickets for Aviator starring Leonardo di Capriel. I do not really like Leonardo di Capriel but I had no idea he was in the movie. I never even heard of this movie so I decided to go see it hence nothing else in the movie theatre that was playing was good and I was not going to go back home and ruin mine and my girlfriends plans so...we saw the movie, and I have to admit...it was pretty damn good. ---Review--- The movie Aviator was based on a true story (based on Howard Hughes' life) and was about three hours long. All-in-all it was a pretty decent movie. Leonardo di Capriel played Howard Hughes (he did a very good job too). For those of you who do not know, Howard Hughes was a major director and also an aviator from the late 1920's to the mid-1940's and became the richest man of his time. He also had very bad tourette syndrome. Since this movie was taken place a long, long time ago there was no great special effects. The acting was great and the director did a very nice job. Cheers to the director. Some of the things that I did not like about this movie was the fact that some scenes were way longer than they should have been and made you lose patients, just waiting for the scene to end. The movie starts off kind of slow but it is worth it. I really enjoyed this movie and I am sorry I did not give you a lot of details about it, but since it is based on a true story there is nothing I can really tell you. If I did, it would practically ruin the story for you. So, to sum it all up, this movie was excellent. I recommened anyone who would like to see it, or even think about seeing it, to go and see it. |

Thanks for the review! I've heard good things about the movie from other sources, too. Hmm, that reminds me... Sky Captain is out on DVD now... never did get the chance to see it!
