I cannot draw icons if my life depended on it, nor can I find very good icon artists (the ones that are good want something in return, you know...like cash). I was wondering if anyone knows of any type of icon ripper. I know there a websites that give away free sprites, but does anyone know of an icon ripper that can take them off of the site so I can put the icons together and all? It would make it much easier, thanks (yes, that is right, I am only using it for taking free sprites off websites, not actually ripping other peoples work).
Icons off of websites are someone else's work. What you are looking for are called public domain. Search for "public domain sprites" on google or any other search engine. You'll find something. Also search for tilesets and game graphics if you can't find any tiles.

I never really had to deal with icons before because I usually had icon makers, but, I feel like doing this project on my own (personal reasons). I noticed that when I download tilesets, or Public Domain Sprites, they come with tons of other icons/turfs right next to each other, on the same sheet. The first question is: Are these icons only one state because I need an icon artist to create icon states for each sprite? And the second question is: How would I remove these icons/tilesets from the sheet and use them in my game? I used Adobe PhotoShop CS 8.0 to remove these icons/tilesets but they came out with the background on it and I am not skilled enough to cut around the side without taking out a piece of the icon, so, is there anyway to remove these easily?

Icon making is easy and icon ripping from sprite sheets is easy to.

If ripping icons from a sheet is easy, would you mind explaining to me how to do this? I mean, I did ask in my post if anyone could explain it....

Turn it into a bitmap, make a new icon in DM, then in DM click "Import Image" from your bitmap file. It will split it. The bitmap would have to use 32x32 icons, though.

Or a PNG! DM can import PNG files too. =)

If the sheet doesn't use 32x32 tiles, you can use an image editing program (even Paint would work) to copy and paste sprites one by one.

Make sure it is bmp file easiest way to rip it.
