Well, I finally started setting up a home recording studio. I've always done really poor quality recordings in the past, but now I can start doing better quality stuff. I built a computer just for recording. In this clip I am playing my Ibanez rg320qmdx into my v-amp 2, straight into my m-audio audiophile 192 sound card. Eventually I'll buy a nice instrument mic to mic up my 5150, but for now, I am really enjoying recording with my v-amp 2.

I messed up a bit in places but I was really just messing around.

Maybe you've gotten a lot better than I remember, but that was REALLY good. I remember your other stuff was great, but you really have fast fingers. I dabble with instruments and I'm nothing to that scale.
Sounds like the studio is working good. Good luck with it. |
Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm going to make this into a complete song. I'll post the finished version when I have it. I can't record vocals yet, so it will have to be an instrumental.

Yesterday I recorded the rhythm track and set up the song structure. I planned to record the lead today, but I broke a string and the nearest place I can pick up strings is wal*mart, which happens to be a couple towns away! Ugh, rural Michigan...
Instead of recording the lead today, I laid out the drum track. There are still a few rough spots in the rhythm guitar that I have to workout yet, but this is basically the finished product without the lead. Also, if you can't tell, I've upped the tempo quite a bit. http://ebonshadow.net/Music/EvilRhythm.mp3 |
Recorded the lead guitar today. There are a few rough spots in the song yet. Tomorrow I'll try to work those all out. Also, I want to add another verse yet. I don't think I mentioned this yet, but there will be vocals to it eventually. I decided this would be a perfect song to do with my band. I probably won't be able to record the lyrics for a while yet. I'll post the lyrics when I write them though.
http://www.ebonshadow.net/Music/RoughEvil.mp3 As for pictures of my setup, do want to see pictures of my guitar/amp or the computer I used to record the song? I posted pictures of my amp here a while ago, but since then I bought a G-Major effects unit and Behringer fcb1010 pedal board. In the recording, I'm actually just using an amp simulator called the v-amp. |
Keep up the good work.
