No. He was telling you that you didn't understand the meaning of the word, "stereoptype".

Now, does it really matter that I speak out against joining the Marines?

No; of course not! You're free to your own opinion. Personally, I wouldn't want to be a marine either!

Personally, I think that the Navy and AF are better and I do not like most people who were in the Marines b/c the marines are the strictest part of the millitary

You said that you don't like the people in the marines because as a group, the marines are strict. True: the marines are the strictest section of the military, but to do what they do they have to be! However, that does not mean, that as individuals, they are strict.

and that tends to rub off on the people who joined and were there for a certain amount of time.

Stereotype.

I've already admitted there are a few who were not there long enough or were too stubborn to be changed. Anyway, this should probably continue elsewhere so the mods don't get mad.

Actually, N1ght did indeed say he was using 'psycho' wrong. He posted a dictionary link to the definition.

uhmm.. It's not only the students who think so. Several parents raised complaints about his unorthodox behavior and the fact that he would refuse to let you in class for a week if you ended up late just once.

Irrelevant. He's one (ex-)marine out of many. You can't judge them all based on him. That would be like judging the entire BYOND community on the actions of say, (Insert name of a banned member of the community here).

No, any behavior tends to rub off on nearly anyone and everyone who is exposed to it for an extensive amount of time. If everyone around you is affable, kind, and considerate, what will you be? Affable, kind and considerate, normally. If everyone is strict, control freaks, what will you be? Normally, strict control freaks.

You asked for examples, I gave them. Now, you say the examples are irrevalent... Anyway, like I sated earliear, this needs to continue elsewhere before the mods get mad.

Yup, one of my Dads friends joined the marines, before he was a humurous guy always up for a good laugh, but now hes no fun and NEVER laughs at a joke...its scarey
In response to Game sabre
At least some people agree with me.
In response to Jamesburrow
...You shouldn't be agreed with. You are stereotyping people, which can be very offensive. If a person came to your school and saw 3 kids doing something bad and the person said that all kids in the school were trouble makers, would you be offended? I would.
In response to Jamesburrow
No, you are wrong. Again you are making a generalzation, there are over 6 billion people in the world right now, do you actually think that each and everyone of them will act like that. I will give you a good example: Look at the muslim countries (Afganistan (sp?), Iraq, Saudi Arabia (I think they are an Indian country actually,) they have quite a few people who are against certain religions...namely Jewish People, do you think that every single person in those countries hate Jews, even though they grow up learning to hate.
In response to Artekia
Well he did use it wrong.
In response to Artekia
If that was my school, then that would be a very accurate generalization.
In response to Jamesburrow
That doesn't change the fact of the matter in that example, stop trying to argue your point with falty empty sentences.
In response to N1ghtW1ng
I said normally. There will always be those who deny what they were taught. Otherwise, America would still be segregated, women wouldn't be able to get good jobs, and many religions that died out would still be around while others will never have been started.
In response to N1ghtW1ng
I used its denotational sense wrong, not its colloquill. I stated this fact many times:
In response to Jamesburrow
Give the guy a DAMN break. He makes one comment that just happens to stereotype marines which he doesnt totally mean and you guys all jump to argue with him.
In response to Kusanagi
I wasn't trying to argue, I was just pointing out that that generalization would be %99.99 correct.

Thanks for the support, Sabre. At this point, I needed it.

Im just sick of EVERYBODY making a huge argument out of everything everyone says, if you say ONE damn sentence wrong, you get about 6 people giving you a lecture about WHY you're wrong.
In response to Jamesburrow
The thing is, its not that the generalization is correct or not, its if it OFFENDS someone. Seriously, sharpen up on your comprehension.
