Is it me or is BYOND way to damn addicting? I find myself typing it in the moment i sit on a computer instead of a diffrent site i need to go to. Iv even tried quiting byond because it takes to much of my damn time up, im not on as much but does anyone find this thing kinda funny?

(note: my origanal key was made in 2003, so no, im not really new to byond)
You musts not talks about the preciousss like that. :P

I did. I managed to leave for 2 months, then the humor and insane fun made me come back.

Didn't you, like come back, with a new key or something?

What does the date 6/6/6 mean to you?

Don't diss D&D.

Back onto the topic being drifted away from though...

Byond is addicting because it is so simple to whip up a small game with. When I have little else to do, I occasionally sit down and spend half an hour making one of those small, cheap games that keep some people entertained for a few days.

Since it is addicting to programmers for the above-mentioned reason, it is addicting to game players since there are an abundance of that type of quick 'n cheap game.

Ignore the first two lines; they don't make sense anymore. They were directed at the post I replied to, which was deleted and my reply moved.

Elation, please don't harass other users. Thanks.
Ever since I found it BYOND has taken up the majority of my time. Sometimes I just sit here and look at Dream Maker trying to think of something neat to make, other times I scan the unpublished section hoping to find a new game with a matching new programmer, and wait for him to find a problem that I can help with. I'm not sure if it's the addictiveness of BYOND, or the massive amount of free time I've had since the lady left, but I'm quite content with this situation. =D

p.s. People replying with "get a life" or the equivalent are required to meet me in Chatters so I can waste your precious time. =P
After nearly 4 years of active use, and 3 and 1/2 years of trying to quit, I'm finally at the point where I can safely say, "I rarely do anything with BYOND". Actually I still keep it around because its handy for doing calculations and outputting formatted text and such, but I don't really program anything that I'd expect anyone else to ever use with it. And don't spend much time on the forums either, usually just moments like this while I'm waiting for something I'm baking to cool...

So, yay! Down with BYOND addictions! Up with hiking, baking and doing pointful things!
I dont do much coding in BYOND, but Im always at the forums.

I wish they were more active though.

Baking....i tried baking once...I found the only way to quite Byond (but who wants to, its fun) is to get banned, i got myself banned for a month on trial to see if i could do it, Its winter, its cold (im canadian) and i went bored out of my mind. I did find out i really cant snowbaord thru.

Lol. thats one of the two ways I've tried to give up. The other was to download a program I KNEW had a virus so that it would completely destroy my only chance of communication. The first way I just went back to OnRPG and had fun there while anxiously awaiting my release (I do wish they would send an e-mail though saying your time is up, I waited at least 3 days after my ban was up), the second way I was so bored I actually thought of playing my old Nes games (they're fun, but once you beat them they're boring), thankfully it didn't cost much to have the memory wiped from my comp and I was able to get back on in a few months
Note-The ban happened after the virus
Note2-When you get banned, you are not able to make another key (well, you can, you just can't use it to sign onto the BYOND)

Instead of causing hassle for the BYOND staff, why don't you just *not* go on BYOND?

Mindless destruction isn't the only way, you know.

'Tis called an IP ban, James. <_<

I can emagine, you feel a little bit like dantom right now... tumbling down the gaming hole...
After BYOND there's no turning back..
You take the red pill, you stay in 2D MPOG world... and i'll show u, how deep the gaming hole goes..
You take the bluepill... then.. ur an idiot, you'll regret it tomorrow and take the redpill then.

It's painfully obvious that Neo does all his tricks because he has broadband and the Agents are 56k-ers.
In response to Elation
Neo: *dodges copious amounts of bullets*
Agent: He's too fast!
Operator: *starts downloading movies*
Neo: *lags out*
Agent: *shoots Neo*
Neo: OPERATOR!
Neo: *dies*
Operator: Oops.

DOWNLOADING! MOVIES! IS! A! CRIME!

(And it screws up bullet time. Piracy is bad, rhyming is good. M'kay.)

I have quit many times before, but I always have the urge to finish up games. When I do that, I might just leave. No, this was not my first key. My original was made on 6/21/03.
