I bought a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse the otherday.
$50USD. They are great! The keyboard types smooth and simi-quitely(you know you hit the key, but you could type with someone sleeping beside you and not worry about waking them up).
I have not yet seen battery life, but I bought some rechargable batteries so I would not have to worry about it. The range is good, the box says 6 feet, I got a little bit farther than that before I could not see the screen anymore.
The function keys are ok, but mostly useless. They have a funtion lock button that, when turned on, turns your F keys into commands like save, print, undo, ect. They don't work for most aplications, I bet they are made for MSOffice apps and nothing else. You can remap them to do there things like run programs or switch windows(I love using them for that).
Above the F keys, it has extra buttons. A media button, just lanches my selected music/movie player. A play/pause button, does just what it sounds like. A mute button. Volume up/down buttons. A favorites button, I guess it just opened a list of IE's favorites, but I remapped it to open DS. A email button, launches the defualt email client. And last, a www button, it lanuches the defualt web browser.
If anyone is planning on getting a wireless mouse and keyboard, I would recommend the logitech.

I've got a set too. Lovely. I found that my mouse (optical wireless) runs out of batteries really quick though. Any suggestions?

SpyWare? I didn't notice any from it. I might have to run my scanners next time I boot up windows though. Oh ya, it works under linux fine, even though USB port (Well Fedora at least).

I use Logitech's wireless mouse. Their keyboard isn't great; besides, if I wanted to spend good money on a keyboard I'd get a DVORAK keyset like I have at work.
The wireless technology is great, though. I've always hated wires on my desktop. It costs more due to extra batteries, but mine really last a good long time. I usually get about 6 weeks from a set of Double-As. My only beef is that, as the batteries get lower, the precise mousing range from the wired base becomes shorter. Luckily, I now have a flatscreen which lets me position my base about 16 inches from my mousepad! I'd really like to see wireless monitor, speakers, and printers. One cord for power is okay, but two (or more) cords for every device clutters up space in a terrible way. Definitely two thumbs up on the wireless technology! |

Or you can get USB printers and speakers. It's not wireless, but there's only one cord to worry about, so if you're fine with a single power cord, it'll make no difference!
