Oh.my.god! My friend sent me this link when I got home from work, and I can't believe what I am reading..

Id like to state, while I think it is highly unlikely, I feel it is still very possible.
Whats worse is the possibilites of what it could hold. Do we have the beginning of "Dawn of the Dead" real world edition on our hands... Or have Zombie Movies fully prepaired us for what could really be happening.
Id like to say, myself, I have always said, behind every story, myth or legend, there is some truth, what if these Zombie movies all held a hint of truth?

You don't expect for anyone to actually believe this, do you? |
I think that if you look at when zombie films started popping up, they are a pretty clear social commentary. Initially, as in Night of the Living Dead, they are a reflection of the mindless invading hordes (Communists, foreigners, etc.) combined with fear of nuclear threats. As the genre evolves, you see zombies increasingly used as a proxy for the unfeeling masses and actions against them represent an outlet of violence against repression, justified by survival. In many ways they carry a very strong message about an element of modern psyche.
It is a fear of a mindless, souless numbness infecting us all, dehumanizing us. They are dead, but still move like they live, a hollow mockery of life. All decency is stripped away, only a rabid hunger for momentary, animal sensation exists. It is a reflection of the pent up angers and desires in a regimented, repressed society combined with a sort of nihilistic view of the inevitable outcome. Clever fake article, though. |

I think you might be looking too deeply into zombies and zombie movies.
I am sure, alot of them, just wanted some good, ole classic zombie action. Nothing about whatever. bla bla bla tacos. |
"We have obtained samples of this new parasite and plan to learn how it starts the heart and other major organs of the deceased. We intend to use this to increase the quality of life for all."
There they go trying to mess with things that weren't met to be messed with. They'll probably end up messing it up really bad, and we can say the end to life as we know it..... |

I remember reading something that sounds pretty close to what you just stated out of an interview with George Romero and a look at his views on Dawn of the Dead.
Actually, theres a more in depth look in the commentary for one of the Dead movies, now that I think about it. |
