I'm sitting here reading all these posts about how the new changes are "not BYOND" and "BYOND is dieing" and well frankly it's starting to really get on my nerves. As far as I can tell, those behind BYOND have always done everything they can for us users.
This is their creation, this community is their creation, this whole thing that you see in front of you is THEIR creation. Who are we to say "Hey, change it back because we don't like it!"? In case you haven't noticed, we're all here because they thought up of something and decided to let us in on it. We all should be saying "Hey guys, let us give you some money 'cos seriously, this place rocks!" instead of whining because you won't get to page some people. I mean, if you're really that worried about not talking to them, write yoursrelf a little chat program. It's not that hard to write a say verb is it?
In my belief, we should all be paying a lot more than we do now. We get unlimited access to a suberb, generally easy language, to a huge collection of code, demos and libraries that can answer nearly every problem you have and a complete forum system, just in case you can't find what your looking for in the demos and libraries or you just want to get something off your chest. We can even make money off all of this if we want to! Go check out some other place son the net and tell me how many of them ask you to subscribe to stuff or buy a bunch of books for the same amount of support you get here.
You know this rant probably doesnt make much sense. Seeing as I love this place, anyone bad mouthing it gets me angry. It's all just sort of tumbling out. I suppose what I'm just trying to say is for all you people out there who are complaining, you go out and spend all your time developing a language and providing support to those who use it, then you come back and tell me that you don't want money for it. Count your damn blessings because it all could be much worse.
Remember, it's still the BYOND I know and love, there's just more here now.
