Does anyone have a suggestions on a nice, small, cheap & affordable MP3 Player? I was thinking about a Dell. But if I get this, will the only way to be able to get music onto it is to buy it from Dell's Music Store?

Look up the Creative Zen Micro, I have one, it's REALLY awesome. It works awesome with the Creative TravelSound. I light up my school with this combo. When I bought the Zen, it was $480+tax and the TravelSound was only $100+tax. I bet now it's slashed down to $200 and Travel is perhaps $80.

My brother has the 30 gig nomad by them. It is really nice, comes with a waist clip case(very thick cloth). He loves it. If you really want to be able to take all the music you own with you, it is a good solution. The price is way lower than an IPod, but all the stats are as good or better. I would really recommend it if you are looking for something with that much storage. You can also store files on it, great for backups. And who would look on an mp3 player for non music files? If you want small, I sugest the sandisk, if you want big, go creative.

I would personally love an iriver, 20 gig with video and that because I heard you can plug it straight up to the tv

I find my iPod-mini does the job really well. It only fits around 1,000 songs, but that's not a big issue considering in a group of 1,000 songs you'll always find a few albums worth listening to.
If you're looking for something small then the mini is for you. It's tiny, and combined with the arm band it's super portable. I'd like wireless headphones but I don't think I've seen that option on any media player yet. It come with a copy of iTunes which is a lot better than I used to give it credit for. Watch out for reviews, there are a lot of anti-iPod people out there. Some of them have legitimate reasons for disliking it, but others simply want to hate the popular option. Also because it's rather popular I hear a lot of 'I dropped it in the pool and Apple wont replace it for free, Apple ripped me off!' style complaints. |

I've never had any problems with it, the battery life is great. My sister has the smaller one, the one you're looking at, and she hasnt had any problems either. Well, not the MP3 player itself. The earphones are crappy, but otherwise, it's great. And to answer the music question, no. If you have an mp3 file (or any of the supported filetypes) you cant put it on the DJ. |

Also has a radio tuner, so if I run out of music, I can still hear something new. 1 gig is kinda small, but it will fit 5 or 6 cds and will also fit most any audio book, or at least the ones I have tried.
