Wow thats sexy. Now if only it could be live with amazing zooming qualities so you could see people on the street :)
It has zooming really close to seeing people. Try looking up "London", or "Moscow", or a major city. You may not be able to make out people, but you certainly can see the cars!

The only complaint I can have with that program is that it got some streets wrong in my town, Other then that, I rate it 10/10. Completely awesome.
Heh man that's awesome. Good old technology.
I'm guessing this is http://maps.google.com as a standalone app. Which is cool, but means it's nothing I haven't seen before. =)

But it's just the satillite imaging, so it's slightly less usefull.

"Google Earth combines satellite imagery, maps and the power of Google Search"

So unless they're lying, I think you may be mistaken. =)

Well you can add multipul overlays, such as roads and state boundries. But there is not conventional map (sans actual pictures).

Gasp! Google lies! O_O

Thanks for the clarification. =)

Well, it is just keyhole with google's name on it. Google is starting to remind me of micrsoft, buying out companys they like. Infact, I had a mini rant on microsoft buying out a satilite imaging company less than a month ago. This does not look good for google.
I got the free trial to KeyHole and now I can't get the free trial for this. -_-

What? I swear the images aren't live.
In response to DeathAwaitsU
It isn't live, but it does have pictures that have cars parked in them.
In response to Shun Di
Not just parked, it has pictures of cars that are(would be if it was video) moving across roads. Seems like with major cities(Moscow, London, Berlin, etc) it has really detailed images.

One thing that I really like about it, it has my uncle's diner prelabeled!
Search for- Ron's 590 Diner, Hamlin, Pennsylvania

It's also really strange to see some of the strange places that it has high quality pictures of... For example search Johannesburg, South Africa. :)
In response to Shun Di
Search "Sutton Lane North, London" then go south west a bit and you'll see a blue rectangle which is my swimming pool =)
Heh. That was a fun way to waste an hour. I found my house (and they don't have any of the street maps for Australia so I had to find it manually).

When does it update and from what date is it from? Cause i sold my boat and the sat. still showsit there.

They took pictures over the course of 3 years.
I used to love playing with the satellites when I was working at a USGS office, you couldn't move them around but you had access to a near-global network of live images with pretty advanced zooming features. It's a shame this stuff pretty much requires a broadband connection, I'd love to mess with it some.
In response to Nadrew
Too bad it isn't anywhere close to live. What program did that office use?
