Hurricane Dennis is soon to come to where I live (Mississippi). I hope that everyone is praying (assuming you have a religion, but I don't want to go there now) for the people that have to deal with such a storm. I know I am.
Yeah, I live close to Mississippi (New Orleans), and I hope everyone in the way of the hurricane survives. By Tuesday it should probably clear up.

Meh, I'm just glad it isn't hitting Florida again. I live in East Central Florida (Near Cocoa Beach). I was without power for almost 2 months. Luckily, we had bought a generator that could run everything. It's time for some other state to get hit, sorry suckas. =P

Sorry to say but the hurricane is going to hit Florida. Gathered from multiple resources I found out that Hurricane Dennis is going to hit the same towns that were hit by Hurricane Ivan. If I were you, I would check the fuel on that generator of yours.

Let me rephrase, it's not going to hit the part of Florida I live in. =P
It'll be 4-5x less devastating than people on the east side of the eye, you're to the NW of the storm. It'll hit gather power over the sea, smash the east side, die coming by the NW, then when it hits the ocean again, it'll get stronger, and smash again.
we're busy dealing with the aftermath of the storm here in Memphis.
I swear, hard to believe that you can suddenly get so much rain after it being hit and dry for well over a month.
What's a hurricane?

Being English rules. :p

Get a dictionary....

Well I live in Maine.... so I don't have to deal with that kind of storms. Worst storm I was in was the 97 or 98 Ice Storm....

I lost cable for like a week. lol

totally bored. (by the way. I didn't have a internet or a comp uter then)

lol

Hah, don't get me started on the differences between English and American English... :p

Luckily all I have to deal with is regular storms here. Except for the hurrican-like storm that hit us a few years back. Winds going 100 mph, power down all over the city, and a few neighbors got totally shutoff from the rest of us by trees that had fallen. Strange too. I woke up and every house near mine had damage, yet mine didn't (also strange is that fact that everyone went without power except for my neighborhood that had power back up in 5 minutes....)
Of course, we had a pretty bad ice storm in '96 that I think actually killed a few people.....

It's what the Japanese, or Western U.S call Tsunami's. Just a large thunderstorm basically.
In response to Teh Governator
I've never heard the term Tsunami used to describe a hurricane, since they are two incredibly different things. Then again I'm not Japanese nor do I live in the Western U.S..
In response to Teh Governator
No, a tsunami is a large wave.
A hurrican is a storm with an 'eye' that has winds that normally get up into the 100s of mph and.....

But, no, it is not a tsunami (Japanese for 'harbor wave' nor is it a thunderstorm)

Anyway, hurricanes can only form near water and generally cause massive floods, destruction, death, etc.
This is one strong hurricane it's getting all the way up to where I live. (Indiana)

Or beaing fron the midwest!

Never heard of a hurricane in Detroit, did you?

At least, not in full force.

No, they're typhoons on the pacific. Sorry to be a smart aleck, but a tsunami is something else entirely, you should know that.
