I think I found why my computer is so slow. I was searching the Windows XP admin commands, and I found Performance, its strange though whenever I open a folder and start browsing the avg.Disk Queue Length Jacks up to 100.

Does this mean I should invest in a new hard drive? Or just format?

I think I need to format. Just clicking a link jacks CPU usage by 20%
As far as checking performance, I usually just press Ctrl+Alt+Del then go to the corresponding tab. Maybe you should run the Disk Defragmentor that came with your software. It helps a little to remove the need to search scattered locations for fragments of a file

Control Alt Delete, is just for CPU usage and doesnt update as quickly.

But quicker(for me) to get to. I when I'm lookin up performance, I don't want to spend for ever doin it. I want to be able to immediately look it up.
