Im not really sure myself, I guess it is the people I know, and also doing art work for games.
|
What first brought me here was Final Fantasy Legeacy, then later DBZ so I could play them with my friends form school. After I was tired of playing those games, I thought about maybe makign my own game(s) that people would enjoy to play. This also changed what kind of career I plan to pursue.
|
I think Cinnom advertised DBEO on a forum that i use to go to and ive been playing on and off ever since.

Because if I'm ever to become the reincarnation of Dan I need to keep working at it!

Well, to get a few games up and playable to the community of BYOND and I'm glad to say that after almost three years I can finally do that possibly next week. :)

What brought me here is that you can create Online games and when you host it shows it on the site. I was amazed at this. That was back in 04, I am still amazed of what Byond can do, what makes me stay is playing Last Robot Standing, some other games, programing, and trying to be a very good programmer that is known on Byond.

When I joined with my first key in '02 BYOND was exactly what I was looking for. I used to sit around making maps with paint, pretending I would someday use them (>_>), then I don't remember how, but I came upon this website, joined, and I was amazed. I started off playing a few games, and for the first 2-3 months, my whole little BYOND time was mostly playing Icon Chatterz becuase at that time, trading for icons was the thing.
I then began to learn DM and program games, most that I never finish due to misc reasons, so basicly...my BYOND Dream is to finish a game. BYOND is what I do all day(I do have a life mind you), but when I am not hanging out at the Arcade playing DDR/ITG or With my girlfriend I am programming. |
Well, I'm on because I like programming. And most of the people are nice. I like to see what people can come up with, and what people can think of next.

I started playing BYOND back in August of '02, after being expelled my freshman year of highschool in April. A friend I knew from a chatroom (whom I haven't sen for over a year) told me about a dragonball game here on BYOND (Majins and Mystics), and after he made me a key (he wasn't sure if key creation was free at the time or not) I started my journey here.
But to get to why I hang around, I really have nothing better to do at present time than to spend eighteen hours a day in front of a computer screen (I've never been much of a socializer and I don't have a girlfriend or a job), so I work on various unfinished BYOND projects and continue to improve Icon Ultima, especially now since people have taken notice of it and I've watched it be published into BYOND.Chat and become #16 in the BYOND rankings. In short: My programs get me out of bed in the morning (or afternoon, or evening, or whenever the hell I decide to wake up). |
The firsts key I created was in 2003. The reason? Well, it was because of Dragon ball z. I was reading the forums in gamefaqs and then I saw someone posting something about a Dragon ball z game. So I clicked the link and I came to a site, as you all know Byond.com. I started playing only Dragon ball z games for a while, but then it all seem boring. I joined icon games, but I was missing something.
I started searching around the hub, then I bumped into Mafia where I meet a lot friends and some annoying enemies. I started playing Mafia for hours to come. For now I taught I found a glorious game but I started to search more and more. After I started playing games other than Dragon ball z; I taught what If I can make a game of my own. So I started creating worlds, destroying worlds, and rebuilding them. I figured out that Byond is a marvelous master piece. The more I learned the more I was attached to Byond. This community isn't just about playing and making games. It is about meeting other people with different ideas. This is what makes Byond different and unique. This is the reason I'm here and the reason that I will never leave Byond. |

I joined in early 2004, I wasn't much into BYOND..But someone I met from the met on the internet talked me into getting it. Then I lost my net for about a year because of grades, and I eventually got my net back in 2003, and I was looking for an Online Yugioh TCG Game and found DMO..

I joined in late 2001 and I liked the games that BYOND offered. After a year or so, I began programming and I stay here just to continue my project and in hope of creating a great game.

Four years later, I'm still short on cash, and most of my dreams have evolved or changed completely. Only difference is, after spending so much time here, I've grown attached to the darned thing. What can I say, I love all you peoples here on BYOND, and I thoroughly enjoy the DM language, regardless of if I ever fully finish a game of my own, or not. I suppose Nadrew isn't whipping me hard enough. (Not like that, you perverts!)
