I don't know how I'd rate myself in DM, but I'd be interested in seeing what the omnicent Lummox JR thinks :)
The problem is, that I do things so differently. I use datums for everything, and avoid [edit: what kind of silly word is 'oviod?'] the atomic system like the plague. I can write up a standard pixelized movement module in a half hour, but it takes me much longer to do simple things with walk(), Move(), get_step(), or any of that atomic stuff. I guess I just don't like it, it disagrees with the way I like to code. For everything else, all I'll say is that I think I hold water. Atomic system: Flaming n00b. In the end, I don't really think of myself as a programmer, I'm more into game design. I could tell you what's good in a game, what's bad, and pitfalls to avoid; I can give you a good history of video games, whats wrong (and right) about gamming currently, and where I think we're headed. Design Skills: Intermediate. |

I haven't seen too much of your code except when you've posted code help for people, but you really seem to solidly understand what you're doing. Lummox JR |

Yeah, but that's only 'cause you haven't done much in the way of learning how.
I'd rate myself at around intermediate. I can do some pretty interesting stuff, I have great ambitions for Legacy (see my blog), but I don't understand things how things like Swapmaps or IconCutter (how can something so amazing be so short?) work. PS Someone should make a shirt - "I got owned by Lummox JR" with the BYOND logo on the back :-) |

Lummox JR so your saying I am:
Newbie--Here---Internewbiate--Intermediate--Advanced--Lummox I somewhat agree with you. |

Ungh I was hoping everyone forgot about that post. Thanks for bringing it to everyone's attention though -_-

No you're probably higher than that.

Beginner - - - - - Intermediate - - - - - Advanced
I would say that each hyphen is a level, and each word has three levels within it. Working off my system... I would be at, level 2. I know a moderate bit about most aspects of coding, and also know moderatly well how to use most of them. However, I must say, that there are specific parts of DM that I am not moderate at, and in my opinion, you are only as good as your lowest weakness. My probably least used areas would be world to world communications, and savefiles. I plan on advancing my skills in both of those areas soon, so maybe I will actually be able to make Begintervanced or whatever you guys are calling it now :) |

The following image illistrates where I am on the "Programmer Level Scale":
...not that I am a good programmer, I just like to travel and meet new people -_- heh, I really need to get back to Algebra 2 now... |

Don't you have some of the levels mixed up?
I thought it was more like this: 1337 H4x0rz------Beginner------Interyadayada-----> |
