Yep. Ancient game, but it is messing with my PC is weird ways...
After playing Civilization 2 for approximately 10 minutes or so, an alert box appeared saying my CPU temperature had hit 70 degrees Celsius and I should turn off my PC. I was startled so I closed all non-essential programs, but left Civ2 open. A couple minutes later after no change in temperature, the alert box appeared again, this time showing I had hit 71 degrees Celsius. I pressed CTRL+ALT+DEL and saw this
Flabbergasted, I saved my Civilization 2 game and closed it. *Immediately* the temperature dropped to 69 degrees Celsius (and now it's at 54 degrees and falling).
I pressed CTRL+ALT+DEL now and saw this
Whaaa?
Something wrong with Civilization 2 interacting with Windows XP SP2? What's the deal? =P
[EDIT]
For clarification, I am running Civilization II Multiplayer Gold Edition (playing Single Player)

Or, Maybe the smurfs inside your computer are getting hungry! Theres only so much work they can do before you have to feed them again! Be sure not to put a floppy disk in our computer, All the smurfs will imigrate to the floppy disk and run away because of forced labor! Yay, for forced labor!
