Is anyone else gonna get this? It looks freakin' sweet.

I already pre-ordered it, I am waiting for my beta invite, should be anywhere from yesterday-a few weeks before release >.>

They have a stupid system which allows the City of Heroes players, who have been playing more than 12 months to have priority and they had to push back beta, because they didn't realize how many of them there was. For us people who bought the pre-order (A measly 5 dollars) we are the last on the chain to be allowed in.

Well, i'm excited none-the-less.
It looks greeeat! I might start my subscription again and buy CoV...Tell me what its like once you get in beta!
Yeah, I played CoH for a while, I don't think 12 months though...maybe it can tear me from WoW...
It's like the first game, but with a turned around theme. Boring.
Eve online FTW.

How can you go wrong with trit mining, corp theft, and podding someone in a war or low sec space, knowing they pissed on you as a newbie? No handholding, no shards, and your actions can actually have an impact on the game's world (unlike WoW, where you run instances all day, and can't actually take overthe enemie's land).

Heh. I read about some evil orcs that tried to take the allied capital city by force. They brought in one of the highest level, hardest bosses to beat in the game. It's the only one that could leave its "zone". They managed to get this boss all the way across the world, and then there was utter havoc. The boss had a special power that caused it to return to full health whenever it killed anything. With guards dying left and right it was invincible.
Anyways, Blizzard had to shut down the server to get rid of it, and, sadly banned the players involved for a few days. :(
That's what they got for trying to bring change to the world.

And you do realize that even with that boss being in the town, it's not possible to take over the captial, correct?

The only stations you can't take in EVE are the NPC ones, which is most likely due to the fact CONCORD is unbeatable, but high sec space isn't where most action takes place, and it's a minority of systems.

Anything goes in 0.0 space. You might find yourself running your normal trade route one day, only to find the corp you had a contract with was driven out by an enemy, who don't want you there, to put it nicely.

Many, if not all, the big news articles when you login, are player related, be it that an alliance hit a large CONCORD convoy, or that some alliance managed to construct a POS(player owned station), or whatever.

My point was that EVE has the ability for you to take control of an enemy's territory, something you can't do in WoW, as your example showed. That boss was unbeatable, but The town doesn't have a Horde Banner flying does it?

This topic has seriously gone off course. Note the title "City of Villians" not "change this topic to World of Warcraft blabber when you feel fit."

I played City of Heroes before, didn't really like it. Actually thought it was kind of.. I don't know how to put it, flamboyant. Lots of bright flashing colors and super heroes zipping by fighting evil-doers, not really my thing.

Note: I played on a friends account, I didn't buy the game and register just to find out I didn't like the game.

Ahahaha, that's hilarious. Good on them for having a go. =)
So, I was in beta for a few weeks, and then the head start. It was good, but I then got lazy to actually pick up the game from the store. I picked it up today, so if anyone from BYOND is on CoV, post here or something.
