THESE ARE NOT RENDERED PICS, WORLDWEAVER.
Heres you: z0mg it looks real must b renderd
Now that I've got that out of my system, I will compare the graphics between that basketball game and MGS4:
The jersey has an extremely sharp point on his shoulder. The labcoat Otacon wears is realistic and nice looking, all though its hard to compare two totally different things without being biased. Second, the facial features look alot better on Otacon and Snake than on the basketball player. If you look closely, you'll see what I mean.

It MIGHT not be pre-rendered, but nobody knows for sure until you play it yourself..Enen if it is pre-rendered, the games actual graphics won't be too far from it because they were made using the game's system.

The Metal Gear Solid games have never been prerendered; ever. In the third one, it looked exactly the same in the trailers, as well in the others before it.

If that's so, then the Big Three of the console industry shouldn't be building their consoles like frickin' PCs.

Long live Nintendo, for they are the risk-takers.
In response to Elation
How are they not going to be built like a PC? As long as they have 3D graphics, they probably are going to be built like a PC.

Hey, I can draw a 3D picture on a napkin, does that make it built like a PC?

These new consoles are using something like twin 3.9 GHZ processors or something insane like that. You can surf the web on them, watch movies, play games, even use word processors on them to do your freakin' homework.

When I take a 3-day trip to my local, quaint English market 10 miles away, I'm going to buy me a console- I don't want a PC! I couldn't do my homework on my Nintendo 64!

When you can't distinguish between your games console and your personal computer, Bill Gates needs to be executed. =/

No, that would be a 3D looking image drawn on a napkin, not hardware setup to render 3D images.

This is where the consoles are getting out of hand. They should be limited to games, music, and movies. Its pointless buying all this extra crap when you don't need it. Its like buying a burger and eating only the meat.

Yeah. Basically what I'm sayin' is that whilst consoles are optimised for game playing with fast loading times, multiple controllers and things, they practically do the same things as computers now. And more and more increasingly, people are buying gaming computers, built exclusively for playing Doom 3 with the settings on full.

If the distinctions between the two are blurred so much, then there's no point in buying a console and a PC. A PC can be upgraded and is definitely more useful than a console, so now they're getting this close together I think I'll just stick with my PC.

(And get a Revolution, which is actually unlike a PC and is innovative =) )

If I am actually getting a console... it would be the XBOX 360 mainly for TES:4...

Also it really pisses me off how people are bragging about the graphics on this game or that game...

Like I said earlier, You don't see me laughing at the PS2 for having PoS graphics because it has pacman for it.

The graphics depend on the game, not the console.

And. PC > All consoles. Like Elation said, the PC can be easily upgraded while Console modding is much more risky.

Why bother getting an XBox just for Oblivion? You already have a PC, which will run it just fine. Plus you'll be able to get mods for the game later on. =)

Aye. Plus PCs are more multipurpose than consoles (well, current generation consoles at least); I'd rather buy one device than two. =) I can see the attraction in knowing that any game you buy for the console will work exactly as intended (the hardware is standardised), but I can live without it.

I said if I am getting an XBOX360... My computer's Radeon9800 might not be able to run it as well as I would like it to... Which is what I'm worried about.

But the fact is you, you don't truely know until it comes out..0_0

Actually, this varied by game. I know a few of the games I had for the Playstation were able to save and read data from a Playstation 2 memory card.
In response to Mecha Destroyer JD
Amen, lets just wait till they actually release the consoles then we can argue with FACTS.

True, but that follows the same log as "You don't know if a pencil will fall to the floor until you drop it".

We all know Sony is good at lying, and Microsoft is even better. To say that none of the previous MGS games were pre-rendered is a good enough likeness to say the next isn't. Unless of course, you believe a pencil would fly to the ceiling if you dropped it. :P

[Edit]
Oh, the video was not pre-rendered. Appearantly Hideo gave some kind of show there the video and they went about moving within the scnes, and even brought up a layout showing various information about the paused scene. I could probably go about and find the link again if anyone is extremely interested.

I never owned any PS1 game that wouldn't write to a PS2 memory card. I'm sure there's some out there, though. It'll probably end up being the same, where most games will but some may not.
