If you use this forum, you need this software! It's less than 600kb to download and it will make your fellow BYONDers take you 45% more seriously when you post.

What is this marvelous tool? It's called tinySpell and, once activated, it monitors your typing in real-time while sitting in your toolbar. When you make a mistake, it makes a subtle ring tone and flashes yellow in the toolbar. That could get annoying, but with features like a personalized dictionary for words like BYOND and features to disable the ringing and/or flashing, it's painless to use. It alerts you to mistakes with subtlety that makes well worth the use. If it hadn't been for tinySpell, I probably would have spelled "mistakes" "mostakes".

Download tinySpell here! It's worth its weight in gold, and more!
Cool! This is nice because CleverKeys doesn't work with stuff in IE so I always have to take a trip to dictionary.com, which takes a while.

[edit]

I can't seem to get it to do it while I'm typing, and I have all the options checked... It only does it when I highlight and copy. :( Any ideas?
mistakes= mostakes. AWSOME dude wow ill never make a spell mistake again .

I don't know for sure why that would be. Make sure it's "enabled" and make sure that "check spelling on the fly" is checked in its settings. Change the settings by right-clicking the tray icon.

Also, if you have some sort of computer security software that prevents keyloggers from working, it would affect tinySpell's ability to check your spelling on the fly. It uses the same technology as a keylogger in that it reads each keystroke, but obviously it checks spelling rather than creates keylogs.

Good luck getting it to work, Kunark. It's such a great utility, I hardly know how I got by without it. I always know when I'm making mistakes now.

The one annoyance is that I need to add legit words to the dictionary en masse. Most internet terms (including internet itself!) aren't included in the default dictionary. The terms aren't that numerous, thankfully. The Ctrl+; shortcut is really great for ease of use and in all it's just a gem of a program.
