Q: How do I win?
A: Write a program to turn a simple text string into an artistic masterpiece. Give me the most interesting art possible, in only 2 colors! Your program will be given a number of text strings,15 ASCII characters each, and will output an artistic display to the display window.
Q: How will entries be judged?
A: Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

Overall effect: (10-awesome,0-whitespace)
Am I pleased by what I see? Does it look artistic? -
Form: (10-stylish and artistic,0-random pixels)
Can I determine some sort of method to this madness? -
Variety: (10-widely and interestingly varied,0-barely unique)
When I change the input string, does it change the art?
This field will be double-weighted; it is very important! -
Sophistication: (10-sophisticated, intriguing art,0-uninteresting art)
When I look at the art, does it make me think? Does it make me feel anything? Can it be exciting or intriguing?
All in all, try to impress me as much as possible!
Q: What are the rules?
A:
- Only two colors may be used; black and white.
- Art must be 224 by 224 pixels (7 by 7 tiles).
- Program must accept a 15-character ASCII string as input.
- One input string must produce the same output every time.
- Every possible 15-character ASCII string must produce an output.
- Entries must be created using DM and executable using BYOND.
Q: How do I enter?
A: Send your packaged BYOND executable and any needed resource files to piratehead to be judged. Include your BYOND key, a nickname for your program, and, if you wish to accept a prize, your mailing address. Multiple entries will be accepted. Entries are due on November 14!
