I couldnt get a ride....:(. I didnt even wanna go to shop, just to look at the people frantically running around the mall trying to get to every sale.

I'd rather spend a few more bucks and not be stressed over the holidays. Just sounds like more irritation than it's worth.
I feel bad for anyone who has to go out shopping today (granted there are some nice deals to be had). The outlet center near where I live was opening 50 of its 100+ stores at midnight. At about 12:20 on the way home from grandparents and the exit for it and were sitting in traffic for almost a mile from people trying to get into the place (after that it was smooth sailing). The parking lot was completely packed and there were just cars upon cars sitting in the aisles waiting for a spot to open up.
I might get a new cell phone... but a crappy one ;P

Sorry, I'm a cheap butt :P

I'm not stupid crazy strong-willed enough to shopping on Black Friday.

I am working at Sears for a temp job, and I hda to get thera at 4:45 AM this morning. I saw people camping out and I called them crazy then went inside. I've never been to a store on black friday in the morning. Ringing people up is a nightmare. I didn't think it was bad until they opened up the doors by my area, then people came in running, and within a minute there were 100's of people. Its horrible.

It's a funny thing...

I've never been out on one of these (not even when I worked at Wal*Mart... I never had the privelege of being scheduled to work on one... well, in the morning, at least)

But, I needed to get something at Best Buy, and as luck would have it, the only convenient time today for us to go was at 5 AM (extended Thanksgiving plans today, which required preparation time and such)...

So, there we were, at Best Buy at 5 in the morning... Shortly after the doors were opened to the masses...

Of course, after fighting or way through people at every turn, we found that they didn't have what I wanted (a video card for a computer I'm building for my father-in-law for Christmas)... So it was a waste...

But, I can now say I've witnessed firsthand the madness that Black Friday brings... I imagine that it's much, much worse at a regular department store, like Wally World...

I simply can't imagine why anyone would do this, though...lol

It was funny to watch the people waiting in line for the registers at Best Buy... The line went all the way around the store's main aisleway, and even snaked through some of the side aisles, like the line (queue) for a roller coaster...lol It was so long that they had to have a guy with some helium balloons standing at the end to mark it...

Insanity...
Is this term "Black Friday" British? I mean, in the United States Black Friday commemorates the day of a horrible stock market crash.

No, we call the day after Thanksgiving "Black Friday" in honor of the huge sales most retail outlets have in the morning, marking today as the biggest Christmas season shopping day...

It's also kind of closely tied with world history, so I mean everybody should probably know about it, heh.

heh. I only know about "Black Friday", the friday that is on the 13th. Although, I dont think "Black Friday" is bad luck. I had an operation on it this year. Nothing bad has happened yet.
I prefer to stay away from shopping on Black Friday. A few years ago, when I was very much smaller, I went with my mom to a mall. It was mostly women there waiting at the door, and poor little me was actually knocked over and stepped on when the door opened.
