Well I know it is a bit late but I was wondering if I should get BF2 and the expansion Special forces for Christmas. I have read reviews and checked out some other fourms but I can't decide. Anyone that play this game(or know alot about it) mind telling me the pros and cons and if you reccomend it. Thanks
I've played it for the Xbox, and I'm addicted. I play it everyday. The single player is excellent, the multiplayer is even better, but if you're not looking to play online, or you aren't able to, I wouldn't suggest buying it. The single player is a bit on the short side and unless you'll be playing some missions over and over to get the highest rank in the military you can, you'll get bored.

It is a very good game, though. You might consider getting it with all those expansions as well. I wouldn't know, we don't get any expansions currently for the Xbox. We download them as they're produced, but we do have some built-in already, though. The Special Ops expansion you were talking about it probably a really good one. The Xbox version allows you to use Special Ops already and it's my most commonly-used character.

Special Ops are in the orginal BF2 for the pc, However the expansion adds new maps, night vision, zip lines, flash bangs and the like :).

Get the PC version if you want the best multi player FPS out :P.

just my 2 cents.

minimum requirements: i don't recomend even thinking about playing the game unless you have the recomended.

Singleplayer: non-existant, the game is basically for multiplayer only.

expansion: not that great, really, it sucks.

pros: Helluva good game, graphically beautiful, awsome maps, much better than UT 2004 or CS : Source.

Cons: system requirements, expansion, asshats you will meet online.

What the hell did you write UT2004 for? That's a different kind of FPS, it just depends on what you like.

Actualy, I like the expantion, the whole repatch thing really angered me(I installed the Expantion pack, then had to reinstall the the latest patch because there was a minor update, but there was no press on it, nothing telling you that you had to, then the download from thier site was going to take about 8 hours, I got it on a torrent though). I like all the new stuff, although the zipline does tend to throw you off going down cliffs, which is bad when you splat at the bottom because your feet grased the edge of the cliff. Besides some minor tweak stuff like that, it was good. I havent played it much, it was giving my brother and his friend some problems, so he said forget that, and got COD2, which is basicly COD1 with new weapons and maps, nothing new online, basicly. We are kinda burnt out on FPSers right now, but will probably get back into them, specialy when UT2007 comes out(Long wait).
